I have seen many truckloads of ski doos running west over the past 2 months. looks like doo buyers should be getting their new rides in good time.

If it comes with a tow pckg from factory I suspect it will do fine. Max rating usually means you need trailer brakes.

When a permit to ride trails on a provincial level cost less than my son's hockey stick - anyone complaining about the cost seriously needs to take a step back and understand the value they are getting for that permit and realize what an idiot they are being questioning it.
It's insane really.
Exactly. We rode 5 days this year. I would happily pay 300 for that. Skiing is well over 100 per day per person. Fuel in truck to get to our destination was same cost as 2 permits, 1 trip, air bnb was 5 permits, food and beverages, 5 permits.

900 ok it lacks fun top end though that other motors have. 130 hp ace turbo looks like way to go if you stay with a four stroke snowmobile.
I think the viper is a way better option. The cat handles better and no Turbo.

I am surprised at the number of folks buying 90hp sleds. Even though for trail duty the power is more than suffice, sledders are men and men like power even if they do not need it.

Good for Cat - sounds like a success and this is even with not all sleds in the new chassis, correct?
I would have expected mountain to be sold out first knowing most manufactures put all there R&D into that segment.
dealers most likely faking orders to get full allocations, who knows, the way they are selling these things is crazy imo.

No it's arctic cat. Won't be that much interest. 😀
Ya well you would be wrong because the only available order right now is the mountain sleds.

Ya, I was disappointed to see the rice of a ZR9000. They have a Trail Blazer Package which gives you a medium height windshield, tunnel bag, handlebar bag and a proper front bumper for another $1100. I think the freight is another $850. That puts the TCat at $29400 and we don't have studs, descent carbides or taxes yet.
I'm struggling with it all. I had set things up so I would be spring ordering my next sled this year. I was thinking that, at 58, it could very well be my last. But with only 300 kms this season, on a 2015 sled which now has 7000 kms, does it even make sense?
I've been watching Marketplace and there are plenty of low mileage sleds showing up at reasonable prices in the last 2 weeks. I'm thinking there will be more before the end of the month.
So I will wait. Maybe I will order, maybe I will buy slightly used, maybe I will stay with what I have. Its just had a full service, new sliders and carbides. See if I ride more next year than the past 5 years, because if I don't then I'm out.
Only thing that will screw things more up is if Yamaha puts out an SRX in Black and Gold..........
I was going to spring for a 24 sidewinder. We rode once for a week this year and that is all.
. Now having second thoughts. However if I do buy, it may be my last and would be low mile after 5 years.

Its unfortunate as this was a great opportunity for AC to bring us something exciting. Considering their parent company, its not like they don't have the $$. l recall doing a customer survey with them about 4 yrs back and they were looking for feedback on a built in GPS. Its not like they don't know their market and/or competition. Furthermore, whats with no 800 in the new platform? The RR and T-Cat are still sporting the old chassis and plastic. The ctek 600 is a great engine (I have 2 of them) but in a world of 900's and boosted 2 strokes they've missed the mark by a mile. Wouldn't surprise me if Yamaha jumps ship as soon as their agreement runs its course. Yama-Poo inbound..lol
I think they are developing a new 850..900 and it is not ready for 2025, you will see it in 2025. The 4 stroke may not fit in there at all.

Snowing here now. Expecting 20-25 with wind. Should be a fun night for clearing sidewalks.
Fire up the sleds.....then plow.

Got back last night from our 4 day trip up north, conditions were excellent, did about 900 miles. The ride from hearst to Geraldton was good, glad we got to experience it. They’ve done quite of bit of brushing and removed the tag alders from the trail, few here and there but nothing major, really starts to get awesomely from the Pagwa river west. We made it in good time and did the big loop around Longlac which was spectacular to say the least and did the smaller loop the next day. We stayed at the Between the Bridges Inn, nice place good restaurant, also had pizza at the Longlac Pizzeria which was very good. I’d definitely do the trip again and maybe stay in longlac an extra night to do more exploring in the area. On a sled note our VR1 was incredible on gas and oil consumption, had no problem going the 150 miles without topping up and still had about 5 litres left. On our biggest day of riding we did just over 250 miles and used one quart of oil. My 850 is noticeably thirstier lol.
Looks like an awesome trip. My mother in law lives in longlac, the trails might make the trip worth it.

Well all great things must end. Our week in skead has been phenomenal. Our air bnb hosts Luke and Shelly are simply awesome. Highly suggest anyone looking to ride here consider Birch Forest Beauty listed 9n air bnb. Thanks to all volunteers in district 12, as usual the trails were perfection. Obviously we will be back. Pic's from our final day.

Haven't been up to Sudbury in several years but really enjoyed the trails. There use to be a small restaurant in
River Valley that had great food, wonder if it survived Covid shut downs? The trail to get there from Sudbury was
like a highway following the river
Open.

Thanks for the updates....there is still part of me that says I should go up to Timmins, as I know what to expect up there and you just cant beat their trail system
Rode to Cartier today. We are running out of skead. Groomer was just out, trails were fantastic, as good as sledding gets anywhere in the world. There is a ton of snow in sudbury. I you are looking for a great place to stay PM me and I will give details on where we are, 2 minutes and you are on the big lake and bnb hosts are club volunteers.

I heard there was a mean moose in the area lol.C 111 D was rough today, but it is Sunday so that is the way it goes. Good snow. I assume the trail from Cartier to windy will be open soon. Disclaimer, second hand report, I was not there today.

I did read the reviews on Costco and it seems the one concern that is mentioned more than once is the battery life - seems to last a couple of hours, depending on setting you use of course.
So a day on the trails sounds like you will need a second or third set of batteries to swap out, if that is possible to keep them working all day.
A second battery is a must have.

Your mindset is bang on. You will beat this.
