  1. Nighttime lows below zero right through November 20th in Parry Sound (with the exception of this Saturday, plus 2). Minus 10 Sunday through Wed next week. Brrrrrrr ....

Nothing under minus 12 (nightly lows) in Cochrane until the 20th. Minus 21 on Tuesday.

  2. Luv My Viper and I will go on to address conspiracy theories.

Staring with ..... Why does the Interactive Guide direct all snowmobile traffic to Dubreaulville, Ontario?

Want to go from Port Severn to Parry Sound? "Via  D'ville", of course.  I like the sound of it - "via Dubreaulville".

Great hearing from you, Luc. Sorry I missed the podcast.

The blue route decided to go to Kap via Chapleau, Dub, Hearst. I couldn't get it to work properly .....

All trails lead to D'Ville :)

Not a glitch. Say hi to Luc.

( See the problem ... ignores your preference/direct route... too far to the west ....)

  4. Thanks, Blake. I tried web based - via Android phone. Much more responsive than last year ( load and refresh).

In time, will see if there's an Android app.

Couple of questions arising from the new location feature. The location button at lower right ( circle ) - is that for a 'true' GPS experience? ( it now tracks where you are in relation to ' map' / trail?)

Is cell service necessary for location services to work?

Time will tell. I suppose some folks can try it in northern Ontario while deer hunting, etc.

Looking forward to exploring northwestern Ontario. Longlac and Marathon...edge of the map.

  5. Oh, yes...."E.T. home" when we get there.

I recall that some trails (up the steep hills, towards airport) may now be closed. Lovely trails eastward (IrReverant led us through them one year) and of course, the lakes get you to trails quickly if those proximate to Deerhurst are baffed.

  6. Received an email from KILLARNEY Sportsman's Inn promoting a $79 rate.

If Georgian Bay freezes up and trails in the area open, it's a great ride.

I believe that the company has now bought all 3 hotels in the area --- putting $ into the community with a new conference centre as well. I've slept aboard a 25 footer boat at Sportsman's docks, dined at the sports bar and more formal restaurant. Wonder if both will be open in winter.

They support the District map; gas also appears on the guide just down George St.

Gone are the 90's winter hot tub parties - but Sportsman's 2.0 is worth the visit.

(not to be confused with Sportsman's Lodge Wilderness Resort north of Sudbury, on Kukugmai Lake.. this one's south, on Georgian Bay..in Killarney...Manitoulin Island area)

  7. Great seeing revrnd, Nunz, Willbill during a 5-7 pm walk-thru. Map quest, as usual. Somewhat surprised that Arctic Cat isn't selling a 2020 '7000' (Viper equivalent). Wondered what improvements have been made since 2013 (Viper..never buy a first year sled lol).

Dinner with revrnd and Nunz was a 2 hour chat about sledding.

Zet's was the usual - fresh, hearty portions. Enjoyed the souvlaki.

Still looking for a longer jacket...tek vest seems to push up back of current jacket.

  8. I've enjoyed dinner at Zet's over the years. On Airport Road. It is " fast food" , but not in the McDonald's re-heat way. Souvlaki, burgers....grilled.

Arizona Grill lounge on Carlingview used to be good for drinks and apps - owners haven't invested in the venue. Now rough around the edges.

  9. Looks great!

Thanks for the website - I glanced at it, but it's a hit and miss proposition. I'll circle back in the future - find that my Klim jacket is too short. It rises as I stretch my hands out to handlebars. Much prefer the longer jackets I had in the past. Anyone aware of 'longer' jacket brands?

    Thanks again, Zoso.
