cornbinder
This year ice in the kawarthas is suffering from high runoff flows and freeze thaw cycles. Ice is unsafe from the middle of pigeon lake through gannons narrows to buckhorn and then all the way to east of juniper island stoney lake. High flows have kept water open for a mile or more upstream than usual at youngs point. Pigeon in gannons narrows area thru Both buckhorn lakes to lovesick lake to bureigh channel to north end of Clear lake are open. this area is always unsafe. The area of chemong just west of selwyn conservation always opens in this kind of weather ( North end of chemong lake. east narrows mile north of winter road to curve lake. This is one of the few bad spots on chemong. Pressure cracks are numerous on many lakes. Use caution pigeon ,stoney , clear, koshabog . Some cracks are high with open water. Kawartha highland ice is in good shape but there is still a lot of water running as evident on portage no rth of turtle (Cherry Lake)and other creek outlets cox etc . The long channel at stumps at mccrackens stoney unsafe take the roadr Stoney is staked viamede to Nephton . A lot of pressure cracks stoney ,clear kosh in unusual places, mississaga ice to anstruther good shape Anstruther marina may be open for lunch SAT
