Dogan
We went for a day trip yesterday starting in Barrie. It was a beautiful day and the trails were good. Starting point - Snow Voyageurs Clubhouse - Barrie - 9am B103 to 414 - a few bumps but pretty good 414 to 421 - groomed and set - outstanding 421 to 206 - groomed and set - outstanding 206 to 203 to Orillia - groomed and set - outstanding 204 across Lake Couchiching - staked and pretty smooth. c-note possible but a option. 204 into Snowcrest 15 and Sparrow Lake - roads were good but short sections to and from Grass Lake were ungroomed and very rough. I understand Snowcrest's small groomer is down. There were unconfirmed reports on the trail that the drag was still sitting somewhere on trail 15 between Sparrow Lake and C101D. Trail 4 going west from 15 to B105 - nice little cross-country, off-road experience - lakes not staked on this route starting with Sparrow. Had a really hard time finding the eastbound section of trail 4 from where it leaves trail 15 to cross Sparrow Lake and then again after you get off Sparrow Lake. There were no signs that we could find. Thanks to the locals who gave us good directions on picking up Trail 4. B105 north to Trail 14 - very rough up to Trail 17 junction and then very good after that. Trail 14 to Trail 15 - very good Trail 15 south to C - rough and un-groomed in some spots C to Port Severn - groomed and in good shape (lunch in Port Severn at 1pm) Gloucester Pool ice trail up to Trail 19 - not staked, "don't go if you don't know". We followed some locals and it was quite rough in spots due to frozen slush. Trail 19 to Honey Harbour - land sections very rough, Lake section rough due to frozen slush. Ice trail from Honey Harbour over to Penatang - Staked but very, very rough due to frozen slush. Trail 304 to 303 - decent but roughed up a little through the day from a Poker Run. Trail 303 to C - a little bumby but not bad. (refreshment stop at the Maple Valley Club 3:30pm) C to B - rail line was pretty good for later in the day. B to B103 - a little bumpy at the end of the day B103 to clubhouse (5:30pm) - quite bumpy at the end of the day. All in all it was a very good day of sledding. There was ample snow and no slush on any of the lakes that we experienced. Total distance travelled was approximately 150 miles Cheers.

This was the better part of our loop up to G'hurst via B and back via SC15/MOST 204. The drag is sitting there... looks like it's been there for a while. Here's hoping for some more snow and cold before the season is over...
