I remember someone on here saying due to ofsc insurance regulations or something like that that you wont see any open trails until after December 1 if they are even ready by then!

Like Stoney said stage from STP. Staged from there on a 5 day saddle bag trip and had no issues. Also have staged from the Moonlight hotel but they charged us 10 bucks a day to park but we stayed there the first night.

Sledders. Dam spell check.

Any experience with the Valley Inn Motel and Suites in Azilda?
Pretty good place for shedders. Good restaurant in town called the Dog House sports bar. Was maybe a twenty minute walk or in my case a tall boy away! Lol!

Staged from Tree Bears last March and stayed there the first night. They had 4 newer cabins then and I think the two older ones as well and they were supposed to be building more. Great food and the cabin was clean and comfortable.

We're heading up in the morning and wondering where to stage from to do the moose loop(clockwise) and possibly the wolf loop if we have time. Some grooming info would be great too. Staying at the Moonlight monday night.
Usually when we go up to suds we stage from the STP lot and go from there. Actually we are going up Wednesday morning and may leave our rig there for our saddle bag trip or trailer up a little further depending on trail conditions. Let us know what the trails are like when you get a chance.

We were talking about 3 bears camp last night and wondered about its status, sounds like it’s back up and running - good news, was always a favorite spot to stay.
The current owners changed the name to Tree Bears Camp. Haven’t stayed there but were maybe thinking about it later in the season.

Talked to Mark Reynolds today. The Highland Rovers were going over to Bear Lake.Said they were going to pack 101 tomorrow.
You mean C101? I was at my BILs cottage in Seguin falls last Sunday and I saw sled tracks on the C101 and the Seguin trail but there was not much snow coverage. They were supposed to get some snow this week so maybe it will be good.
-
A coworker of mine showed me a pic of a sled trailer on its side on the 401 around Milton today. It was on Facebook but I don’t have an account so no pictures. Hopefully the trailer was at least empty.

I drove by Mt. St. Louis Moonstone on Tuesday and was surprised how much snow was still on the hills.
Last year when I was going to my BIL cottage in May there was still some snow on that hill on the eastern edge . I think it was the May 24 weekend.

Yep.... 650 Vr1 137” and either an 850 assault or 850 XCR 136” (if assault can’t fit in trailer....)
Nice choices. Hope you can get an assault in your future. Me on the other hand will just keep my switchback with 15k on it.

Any fellow OC’rs going to be at cochrane thrift lodge south this weekend and riding a 2021 Polaris matryk platform ?
im in need of some measurements to see if an assault will fit or not in my trailer.
Length it will fit if the hood /windshield allows sled to go all the way to the front.
my XS chassis can go all the way, but G4 (with more forward cockpit and higher stance) wont allow to park all the way in as windshield profile starts to hit.
So you want to come to the dark side of the Poo sleds? Good for you. And you need to get your son on one as well.lol

Went out again today from Markdale over towards Durham and I must say that the Durham trails were great today! Must give a shout out to all of the volunteers and groomer operators and most importantly the land owners!,

Yes, if it is only one wire it would be an electric fence.
I was by that sign yesterday and it is a one wire fence. There was a long stretch of that electric fencing in that area. Just like the other signs that say “stay on trail or permission revoked” and then what do you see some f@##stick has gone off trail riding.

Checked out the trails this morning. Hard as a rock, bare spots, no lube. Scratchers would be a must for sure. Think my season is pretty much over. 1037 miles. Short but sweet. Clubs did amazing for the conditions we had this year.
Say it ain’t so up there. I was thinking of going up to Sudbury area next weekend. Actually booked the next 3 Friday’s off to do some weekend trips riding up north. So far this year has been a low mileage year. Oh well

Went from mt.forest up through Neustadt and over to Chesley then to Chatsworth and down to Markdale for lunch. The trail from Chesley to Chatsworth was great. Think it was the R500 or something. I don’t lead I just follow or we would get lost pretty quickly.lol. Not a bad day but the road running is pretty bad and with next weeks forecast I think you are right.

Yesterday, we rode from Sportsman around Wolf loop down to Rocky, over to Capreol and then worked our way across to Warren and to Noelville. All trails were hard, fast and had adequate cooling. Will be better on weekend with grooming on-going.
Why is there no signs for Sportsmans on trail? Is there some dis-agreement there?
So if you were at the Sportsman’s you would have been very close to the bridge that you and Motörhead wanted to cross. Did you guys go across?.

Go for it!,Lol. I was there a couple years ago and my riding partner wanted to cross but I told him no way in hell that I was going over. There were bare spots that I could just imagine that the carbides would dig into and I would get stuck. And no guardrails!,

If the rest of the C trail open up north of shining tree there is a lookout north of hwy 144 that is over 500 meters above sea level. if you look on the ITG you can see the trail but it does not have a number. Spectacular view. I think it is a cell phone tower.

Rockies from your base at ELWR is 250 km. one way and you would likely return the way you came for a 500 km. day. Not all fast trail.
You could go to Kirkland Lake via Elk Lake then south to New liskeard via A108 and back to your base. There are some choices for trails to use so length of day can be adjusted up to approx. 330 km.
You could also ride up the A trail to Rollies (if open) in Ramore for lunch and return to base. 240km.
These are all based on trail availability. Hope this helps.
ya you are correct PLC. I got confused with Auld Reekies and ELWR about going to Rockies. That would be much more doable as its only 170 k one way. And the a107c is pretty winding trail but the C trail from Shining tree down to the c206d is pretty quick.

What and where is rockies?
Any lunch stop recommendations?
Thanks in advance for your help!
Rockies is a restaurant on lake wanhiipitae(sp) and they have fuel. The C trail is a very nice trail. Lots of nice views and can be fast. To make it a really long day you can go to wolf mountain on your way back to elk lake.
