Was the sled owned by an old guy? Just got a message from a former co-worker that bought a sled that sounds very similar.

He said it was a friend of a friend. Did he work at GM.

Up until the '07 model year (the last year of the original REV), the owner could easily switch back & forth between miles & kms (which was I seem to recall was displayed). Not sure if this was thru the cluster 'switches' or the harness. I know on the ZX chassis there was a connector that was plugged or unplugged to make the change.

I'm not familiar w/ the XP setup up, but wouldn't MILES not be visible on the odometer if that was the units?

I just checked my sled & the display shows:

    12345

      Km

The units can be changed by the dealer, according to the owners manual.

That being said, a 12 year old sled w/ '1000 miles' on it does raise flags. Reminds me of those low mileage late model sleds w/ worn rubber & paint that turn out to be out of province rental sleds.

I checked with him. It is 1000 kms. I can switch  between kms/miles on my zr 7000.

  3. Buddy is looking at 08 MXZ Renegade 800 with 1000 kms on it for $3300. What should he look for on a 12 yr. old sled with that low of mileage. Price seems good. What do you think. Thanks.

  4. 09 MXZ and I rode from Fenelon Falls to the e108 to the E to Harcourt. Had lunch at the new restaurant there. Nice place. Took the E to B to Haliburton and the B103 back to Fenelon. Total of 250 kms. Beautiful day. All the trails were in awesome shape. Great job by all the clubs. Police were set up south of Haliburton.  Four police vehicles and five officers.  Had radar set up. Asked for license, insurance and ownership.

Got out with my son on ofsc trails for the first time ever on his own (bought a 2 day trail pass) did a 142km loop from kincardine / port elgin / inland and back to kincardine. Lot’s of gravel, muddy fields, snow drifted in trails and some great wide open fields.

will be looking for a bigger sled next year, as he burned over 20 l for the 142 km loop on the 300 tundra......

Wish I got that mileage. Thats 20 mpg.

  6. 09MXZ and I rode from Heart of Ontario clubhouse to Haliburton. Took side trail through the Pinery on way up. Took 340 on way back, through the Pinery again. Trails are in great shape from Fenelon Falls to Hali. Rail trail and fields from Cannington to Fenelon were great. Bare patches in woods and along roads. Will need snow to stay yellow. Great day. Another 240 kms. Off to Florida for 12 days. I wasn't given a choice. Lol.

Mostly beside the road, should be fine. When it's good, it's real good. Rode by it this morning, looked good.

Thanks Livin. At Kosy Corner in Hali right now. Check it out on way back.

Methinks that the ice formed and then they dropped the water level in the Trent system before it had a chance to thicken up, hence the gap between the water and ice. Guess the rest of the lake had a better chance to build thicker ice than that spot.

My brother is a big time ice fisherman. Says the same as you. Ice freezes and water level is lowered.

  9. Bottom end went on my 02 viper a few kms out of Wilberforce. I was waiting about 10 minutes when two guys stopped. They towed me about 12 kms to Eagle Lake country store. Lady pulled in driving taxi. Took taxi to Lindssy to pick up truck. Cost me $230. Drove back to Eagle Lake. Had to load sled myself, nobody around. Got it halfway on and was as far as i could get it. Remembered i had a ratchet strap. It was enough for me to load it. Took an hour. Then i drove 2 1/2 hrs. home. It was Super Bowl Sunday. Pulled into driveway just as the Patriots made that great comeback against Atlanta. What a long day.

  10. Me and 09MXZ rode 280 kms from Fenelon Falls to Dorset and back today. Conditions were much better today than the last two Saturdays. The odd bumpy stretch, but overall trails were great. Lots of lake running to. Even the rail trail south of Hali. to Fenelon was good for the most part. A few rollers, but ok for late afternoon. Groomer heading north at Superior Propane around 4:30 p.m.
