All dog's behave different when in a "pack". The poor kid could have just been running by and maybe laughing or screaming loud which triggered the dogs. The dog's might have just been playing but 300 lbs of them will hurt anyone.

    Sad for all involved

Dogs at play do not viscously attack and bite and hurt people . Dogs that fall into that category should be dealt with using the 12 gauge method.

If it went digital, did any permit buyers get an email when subsequent issues were online? I'm thinking I got 1 print issue along w/ the OFSC insert @ the start of the season & nothing afterwards.

Consider yourself lucky Rev, I got nothing.

I've been buying carbides since the 80s. A cardboard box to hold 2 'blades' & 2 nuts?

    No wonder they're so expensive.

Also not really sure of the need for the host material to be hardened when the inserts protect against wear. A carbide scriber will barely scratch the surface.

Any idea how long a patent lasts before an outside vendor could produce them?

Rev, you could easily make those in your shop, could you not remove the worn carbide and solder in new inserts?

    Something like this:

Drill & tap 2 holes to retain the plugs permanently

Good plan Rev, you could forget about drilling and tapping and just drill a .125 hole through tube after plug installation for a stainless roll pin. Anyone that has this ramp should replace the plastic plugs with your aftermarket plugs. Available from Roenick Powersports.

A bad note on these ramps. I had lost a couple of the black plastic plugs that fill the upper end of the tubing. I was thinking of a method of replacing (w/ a better method of retaining them).

Well today unloading the sled, the plastic 'guard' under the 'blister' in bellypan (chaincase side) caught the sharp edge of 1 of the open tubes. As a result a chunk of plastic about half an inch square x 3 inches long was torn off.

If you lose any of the plugs, I would swap in the plugs from the outboard tubes.

Not sure if sleds other than the XS (possibly Gen 4) have low clearance in this area as well & are susceptible to damage caused by the 'open' tubes.

I'll post a pic of what I come up w/ next week.

Rev, could you not weld a plug in the end of the tube and put a rad on the top edge?

  6. Raining lightly west of Ayr, supposed to change to freezing rain .Decided not to head up to cottage as trails there are not open due to $hitty weather. Heading into town shortly to pick up a prescription at the LCBO.

Of course I did. Drive to conditions and you are always fine.....unless team brown hits you.

Police have just released a description of the transport driver involved in a hit and run in Cambridge January 20th. Suspect is around 25 years old and wearing a purple turban.

No microwave in the shop so no need for a SOP to be taped on the side outlining the proper procedure for cleaning it (saw that at work).

I guess what I'm saying is that rules & regulations seem to have taken precedence over common sense. Mind you there are people that could hurt themselves writing a note w/ a pencil.

Not to worry Rev, you should be okay in your home shop running your shop vac and pencil sharpener. If you were located in China you wouldn’t have to worry as workplace safety is nonexistent there.

-30 windchills this morning, and now even.  Calling for 30 below tonight, Without the wind.  Brrr ... maybe not a record, but friggin' nippley for mid-December nonetheless ...

Be thankful for climate change, otherwise you’d be looking at -40 — -50 degree temps.

Got my email on Tuesday (yesterday) that my sticker was posted....looked on my sled and it was already stuck to the windshield :rotflmao:  wow, that's service.

Okay Okay .... got mine last Friday evening Oct. 11th  put on the sled on 12th ( saturday and forgot)..... then got the email on the 15th.   Wouldn't it be neat though if the Snow Fairy had come over and placed it on my sled without me knowing?  Eh!

It would be even nicer if the Snow Fairy paid for it.
