  1. Groomer operators is a mix throughout the province. Some clubs/districts would have more paid operators. Others would be more volunteer based.

There are pros and cons to both systems.

The current structure relies on volunteers and the return benefit is a better riding experience for all. No system is ever perfect.

  2. Wife and I are here now. Just coming off free weekend. Riding today as well then headed back tomorrow. 555889F6-C98F-4581-A1D0-610A3E80B596.thumb.jpeg.61c96cbd46c90956c3c0322c100f1718.jpegThe police were out yesterday. No issues.
we just have print outs of free pass and day pass.
here is photo of instructions on print out. No mention of posting it on machine.

  3. I rode the mach (dad's) and my '21 xrs back to back, same trail.

The mach flat out handles better!!!  Best machine doo has produced ever IMO - if you are a trail performance rider.

(to steal words of the Lester's) It is more confidence inspiring. I'm convinced the magic is in the smart shocks. possibly ride height plays a touch? Set-up was very similar, however have since made some minor adjustments (pre-load) to mirror dad's as close as possible. Haven't been able to ride back to back since.

The adjustability of the smart shocks is value added for sure. I'd be in comfort 99% of the time myself.

The 7.8" gauge is also very very nice. again value added.  BRP Go works well but a bit to get it figured out.

His pulls 8K rpm consistently. Didn't do a long lake run, but mid-range/early top is very strong.

Mine has a tune (not sure which one specifically). 40km roll on they are very very close on hard pack snow.

Launch controls hits hard and is fun. Hard to drag on snow pack lake, torques left every time. Non launch start is much easier to keep it straight.

Mach windshield vs medium with mirrors. Noticeable difference between the two in protection. Med is my choice. He has yet to secure one for himself.

I'm not a racer, we ride a North trails with long day and many miles. So I'm looking for enjoyable, fast responding and advanced suspension sled.

Everyone has their own preferences of course. If you could find one - 900R Renegade Enduro for 3K less might be your ticket.

Mr. & Mrs. Turbo Doo should have some good comparison soon it looks?

Any Renegade you buy, make sure it has RMotion X/RasX. Huge improvement vs. previous if you are a spirited rider.

clear silicone spray helps quite a bit with rubber seals, latches etc.

mother nature often remains the victor though.

forgot to add why I like it. Monday mornings. lol.

no mess and doesn't distort rubber like other oil sprays will. works great on car door seals.

that they would help, but this is my good riding suit.

We often get - I'd love to help out if only I had some time.

but, somehow you found the time to ride all day on barely passable trails???

  6. I'd say 8" in Fenelon. 3-4 of it in the past hour. Was coming down hard.

By mid-late week we should see lots of colour change on the interactive.

Lots of clubs have already been packing the bit we had prior to this.

  7. So many good products out there.
bought my wife a ‘19 renegade 900NA. Her favorite machine ever period. Not that she has rode them all.
if 4 stroke is top of list. Efficiency. Reliability. Gas and go. If quiet is top of list. That’s the machine.
I quite enjoy it however, I favor little more power. I upgraded end of last year to 900t renegade. G4 chassis is more comfortable on long runs for me. If you ride aggressive at all. Ras x and rmotion x is best g4 setup yet. If you don’t ride hard an older one is just fine.
I loved the 1200 XS blizzard. Dialed in out of the crate. Blizzard was great value package. Great trail manners. Power for 90% of everyday use. Efficiency. Reliability. Etc. Others hate a 1200.
so many opinions. Hope it helps.

  8. A guy in our group had one fail a few years back that wouldn't come out of reverse.

We teased and wanted him to ride back to the cottage in reverse. lol.

It took us over an hour to mess with the limited tools we had, got it disassembled enough to mechanically disengage it.

I think it is something BRP has addressed and improved, however I really have no knowledge of this.

Electronic/electrical gadgets are great when they work. However the other side of me embraces the KISS system often as well.

  9. That's awesome. Good to hear.

Looks like you may have a touch more space than I do in mine? My trailer is a tilting clamshell (Triton elite) and you mentioned yours might be modified a touch.

We use our trailer very seldom anymore other than trying to go on a trip up north that never seems to work out. lol.

Is that a medium shield in those pics? Ours is different with mirrors mounted on the side curtains. pic1.thumb.jpg.7722fd11369ea5f560db882972538648.jpg

Super 8 and Advantage have good trail access..A trail is right behind Super 8, and across the road from The Advantage

I’ve stayed at the Super 8 and it’s nice but recently stayed at the Advantage and more of a motel style and you can park right outside your room and papa Franco’s next door plus it’s a bit cheaper to stay there.

Thank you Gentlemen! Hope everyone has a great late season ride!!

We will make our decision in the next day or two. Haven't rode in the north for many years.

Approaching 3k for the season. Would be awesome to add in a northern trip.

might have just upgraded the ride as well.

  11. Everyone but me it seems. lol.

Several in my riding cycles have ordered, including my father.

He traded his machine in last week (pretty sure it sold in a day) whole other topic on here.

So he's at my place as we speak riding my machine. I should be good for a break in of the new Mach.

    As you say. :evil2:

Your referencing the 900ace, about the falling off of power below 60mph right?.

    Yes. above 60. lol.

For where we ride in central Ontario its awesome. Enjoy it myself as well.

And yes totally agree its all about preference. You enjoy the NCDN and I enjoy reading your posts. If we rode areas like that regularly, yes I'd be on a tuned 900T for sure, and likely the same for her. For me (us) haven't been in 20ish yrs.  We will get back there someday just not for now.

With all that said, can't wait to try the Mach next season!!

  13. some good info above.

    I upgraded my wife's from a grand touring sport (500ss) to a G4 adrenaline 900NA.

Took a few rides to be honest, she loved the sport but that's all history. Would never go back now.

I will go against turbo doo recommendation, although it is a very valid one. (130hp version)

Below 60mph it has lots of pull for what it is, it's only above that they fall apart power wise.

Another consideration is you can run 87 octane if that's your preference, or what's available on a ride.
