He has tin foil so no need of the hot dogger.
Just find a hot spot to set it on and don't wait TOO long to take it off.

    ha ha

rental sleds - just reheated  McDoubles (bought night before and refrigerated) wrap in tin foil , put next too muffler for one good pull up the mountain and all reheated for lunch- tastes even better with the view!

  2. After having to cancel Quebec trip over Christmas and again in March (was to do new Liskeard - Chibougamau loop this week) with my 16 year old son (as he could legally ride in Quebec this year) - wasn’t going to let a March break pass without something.

we had previously cancelled a trip out to Revelstoke over family day weekend as they had a major thaw - so we decide to rebook for Wednesday and Thursday this week.

best single day of sledding I’ve ever had. Think I’ve even improved from last year!

  3. Found a beautiful blue bird day - unfortunately missed out on my ability. Got a 165” 3” paddle good and stuck in the mountains , luckily my son came back to help me dig out and pull.

Just an fyi to those with kids under 16 and/or without a drivers licence.

TD just informed us they will no longer insure kids with Operator Permits - no G licence - no insurance with TD.

that sucks. Sorry to hear. Crazy they didn’t “inform” you directly.

I’ve been with TD for decades, Looks like I’m just under the line with my 16 year old now, but they are making their money on him being a primary driver on my old ktm 350 exc!

  5. Got two Cheques for $37.49 each back for Quebec permits (insurance) in the mail tonight - and we are still waiting for the Quebec trail passes to arrive at the house!

  7. Anyone have a spare linq adapter kit they are wanting to part with ?

bought a 17l sport bag for the Assault coming this fall - but didn’t realize they don’t come with linq adapters anyone!

    before I go by a set for $50 - thought I’d ask.

You need to pay close attention to what LinQ accessories you buy - some of them are designed so you cannot stack other accessories on top, I assume so you do not overload the tunnel seeing as liquid is likely the heaviest thing straped to the rear.

I have the 4 gallon gas container, that can hold oil too if you wish, that allows me to strap a bag to the top as well.

There is a chart that gives you what options you have that can or cannot be stacked.

I’m aware of the current options - I was saying if they came out with a modified / reinforced small 1 gallon oil caddy that you “could” stack another linq on top  of - I would do a 1 gallon caddy on top of it.

don’t need 4 gallons of oil - 4 l (1 gallon) of oil plus a couple 1 l bottles under the seat will get two sleds for a couple day 1200km tour is all I need.

Getting off topic, but I sure wish that BRP would make a STACKABLE oil caddy that was about 4-6L.     I would love to be able to carry a 4L oil can that I could put a bag on top of.

    100% agree.

You would think the small oil/gas caddies could be re enforced to support another linq on top of it.

I would do a 1gallon oil caddy and 1gallon gas caddy on top of each other.

  10. In the market for a new linq gas and oil can (tired of waiting for Polaris to come out with anything).

don’t need it till December - but didn’t know if any of the doo dealers these days offer no tax sales at all? (Summer / fall /ect?).

anyone have any recent experience of dealers offering sales on linq products (they seem to always discount clothing)?

    thanks

  11. Well fat lady sung for us.

Total trip 1541 km from Tuesday 11am.

had some challenges finding trails this am out of timmins with the 10-15cm fresh snow on ground . Broke trail for first 60 km or so. The outdated 7S map did help alot though.

Trails hadn’t been groomed for a while - but mint. Soft and a little bumps in corners.

Made it to smooth rock after playing on hydroline for a bunch - son getting good at wheelies!

guess what kind of gas they had left ? NOT premium ….. emptied out linq into the 850 and put her on ethanol mode.

great lunch at Ellies. We will stop there every chance we will get! Think we have tried every sandwich on their menu - and all great!

C trail was great heading south.

timmins is HURTING for snow anywhere near a roadway.

After filling up gas , checked into Travellodge (east side Mario’s  next door).

Don’t have to clean skids tonight !

  13. Well made it back to the Chateau Travel lodge .

563.8km for the day - Hearst and back. Little under 12 hrs round trip. Oil light on the little 650 , which ran 1-2l more than the 850 every fill up.

was first out on the trails it seems at 8am and minus 18. Didn’t see anyone till Kap.

Was hard , smooth fast trails this am.

even with some playing in the powder at smooth rock - we made it to kap for gas at 10:17am and 154.8km.

had a nice long stop at Tims in kap for late breakfast and chatting to dealer on new sled deal next year. Finally on the trail 11:30 ish.

made it to Hearst from south end - great trails mostly. Some more snow but still not lots.

made a little trail side snack of Mr noodles - takes a lot longer to melt snow and then boil it btw!

met a mother and daughter on trail (little girl went wrong direction and was lost ) - they had the cutest throttle stop - maybe next year she will graduate to a AAA!

Filled up in kap again , then a great dinner at Ellies in smooth rock (our favorite food place).

all gassed up and ready to do Abitibi (4 oil jugs and 1 linq can) , late lunch in SR/Ellie’s then onto Timmins tomorrow.
    Hoping weather holds .

Friday will be a mess getting back to New Liskeard and trailer home (7 hrs), but we will play it as it comes. If we have to stay a night won’t be an issue. All part of the adventure.
Only have 45 miles going east out of timmins at start of AM on Friday that I won’t have fresh GPS tracks back to New Liskeard .
