Hi Gang, I noticed this heated pad that fits between the foam and seat cover, much cheaper than the heated seat option on my '22 Renegade X. I've had a heated seat on my last two sleds, and loved it.
Under-Seat Heater for Motorcycle, Snowmobile, & ATV • GEARS (gearscanada.com)
Anyone have any experience installing and/or using this?

Thanks again Turbo Doo! That answers my question

Turbo Doo (and anyone else who might have the Pilot TX skis), do you run the OEM 4" or the 7" carbide on them? Studded or Ice Ripper XT?

They absolutely do not..
Sweeeeeeet! many thanks for the pics.

@Spanky, hopefully these pictures are good enough to show you the cockpit. This is my '21 Renny XRS 900T. With Medium Height windshield and mirrors and side deflectors that are needed for that windshield and mirrors. Feel free to ask for a different picture etc.
Thanks Turbo Doo! The handguards don't interfere with your vision to the mirrors? Could just be the angle of the picture.

The handguards JUST touch the windshield at full extension and I have an XRS with the more forward steering post. I am not the least bit concerned about the guards touching the w/shield
Thanks scottyr!

The stock X windshield is too low for me at 6ft tall. It directs the wind right into my chin and my helmet is forced upwards with the wind giving me a sore neck after a couple of days of riding.
The medium windshield looks acceptable and works really good. My 22 XRS will have one on it the day I pick it up (with mirrors).
Do you leave the handguards on?

@Spanky I have a stock height X windshield at home, I'll try and show a comparison tonight the difference between the stock height and the medium height when I get home..
Thanks again, Turbo Doo!

This is my set up as well. Medium windshield with mirrors. I love those mirrors.
So the consensus is the low windshield that comes standard on the X is that its not warm enough?

Much appreciated Turbo Doo.

Thanks Blake! I've never had a sled with the handguards before, I was thinking on trying them first. On my GTL I found that I was almost too warm at times...then again there wasn't much riding the two seasons I owned the 2020 lower than -20C.

I'll have the same windshield and mirrors on my '22 Renny 900T R flavor also..You can mount and use the small round mirrors from doo onto the handguards. There are scribbed mounting Locations on the handguards to drill the holes.
Nice setup Turbo Doo. Did you find the handguards and the medium deflectors w/mirrors too much? Have you ever tried the small mirrors on the handguards?

Going to try and get her on her own sled, since she is use to riding motorcycles. Just waiting for nephews to get abit older and they can utilize second snowmobile, too.
I've found that I am carrying a passenger less and less with the GTL (my second Grand Touring, first was a 2016). I had a 2013 Renegade 1200 that I had added the 1+1 seat w/heated grips, and it worked very well after adding heavier torsion springs. Unfortunately those torsion springs made for an ill handling sled when ridden 1up, with insane ski pressure. I'm hoping the 2022 won't have that issue.

Wasn't going to trade till next season, but my dealer offered me a lot for my 2020 Grand Touring LTD 900T, and dropped $1k off MSRP for the new one. Ordered a 2022 Renegade X 900R T, yellow/black, adjustment kit, 1.25" Ice Ripper XT, and standard gauge. I was able to save a few accessories off of the 2020, so I ordered the 1+1 seat/heated grips, heated visor plug, LinQ SR21 Tunnel Bag, LinQ Cargo Modular Box, Tunnel Ice Scratchers and a cover.
The X comes with the low windshield, I ordered the medium windshield kit that comes with the deflectors, but I'm not sure about it as I want to add mirrors, either windshield mounted or handguard mounted. It makes for a busy cockpit with the handguards. I'd like to stay with the low windshield (or mount the medium without the deflectors?), anyone have any experience with the G4 X package windshields?

The "new" trail has been opened up despite the antics and stalling of Pembroke city council, who listened to the blue hair brigade, forest fairies and adjacent landowners for the last couple years that were opposed to motorized use of that corridor. Pembroke is the town that fun forgot, if its not part of the Old Time Fiddling & Stepdancing competition on the Labour Day weekend, its not necessary. Fortunately, the abandoned rail line is owned by the County of Renfrew, who has stipulated that the municipalities that do not allow motorized use of the corridor have to provide a safe, approved reroute, in this case there is no possibility of any reroute. The County got tired of the constant delays of the City to "study" and otherwise use delay tactics, so the County went ahead and pushed the trail through.
This season the trail will allow access to motels that were previously difficult if not impossible to get to, as well as excellent restaurants such as Finnigan's and The Nelson Street Pub, and a Canadian Tire gas bar. A Benson's Auto Parts and UAP/NAPA are also accessible.
A word of caution, the residents along this trail are not friendly, and regularly patrol the area, as well as having trail cams set up at road crossings. It also has a 20 km/h speed limit.

Do you have the fiberglass or carbon one?
I have the fiberglass one, there didn't seem to be a big difference in weight according to the spec's for the extra price, and I'm not a fan of a matte black finish.

Bought a CKX Mission with electric shield this season, coming from an FXR Fuel modular. Have only used it on one 160km ride so far, but I like it for the most part. I removed the inner rubber shield, and will have to modify the large velcro'ed chin seal, I can't get the helmet on with it in place.
After using the built-in sun shield a couple times, it now sticks out of its slot somewhat at rest, I will have to take a closer look and see why.
Another minor issue, even with the supplied clip in place to support the cord, my electric shield plug kept coming out of the receptacle on the shield during my ride. Will have to come up with something to hold it in place. Never had to MacGyvr things like this on any previous HJC or FXR helmet I owned, somewhat frustrating to have to be making these mods to a sub-$600 helmet.
On the positive side, the field of vision is amazing, the helmet is light, and I love the adjustable visor. Hopefully I can find solutions to the annoyances I've found and be happy with it.

Maybe an inch or two in Pembroke/Petawawa, but mostly rain.

I've been following the two threads on enclosed trailers, but I didn't want to hijack. I'm looking to buy one to fit two sleds in winter, and a Can-Am Maverick Sport XXC (L x W x H is 122" x 64" x 74.25") for the other seasons. Longevity is important. I really liked the Pro Star mentioned in the other threads, but unfortunately they are nowhere near high enough for the Can-Am.
Any suggestions?

Love it!!!

One more to add to the closed businesses, and this one really hurts
Joanne and Darcy have sold Cedar Gables Lodge in Bonfield to new owners, unfortunately the new owners will not be continuing with it as it was.
I am very happy for Joanne and Darcy though, they have worked hard over the years, great folks and great hosts. I will always remember our stays there fondly, it was a beautiful lodge! Best wishes to Joanne and Darcy on their next chapter, they will love more time with their grandchild!
