He wouldn't turn the pump on for prepay without wearing a mask. Which is beyond ridiculous

Not really... you handle the pump nozzle without a mask and leave the virus behind on the pump nozzle. The next person uses it and picks up the bacteria from the nozzle and unwittingly leaves with the virus on his hands. Another person comes along and picks up the nozzle and comes in contact with the virus as well.

At $400 a night (Low Season), all inclusive, I hope that includes the booze. :-)

wow... that isn't cheap.  The last time we were there was on a family day weekend and the room rate was reasonable... I can't recall how much. The dinner the first night and the next day breakfast were a bit on the pricey side.

Essentially OPG is working on the damn crossing. Really don't need sledders to deal with during that work on Wednesday.  Its 1 day...

Exactly... just be happy they allow crossing the dam the rest of the year and say thank you.

Is he a restaurant owner or a construction labourer? (asking for a friend)

LOL.... he's the clown who opened his restaurant in defiance of the shut down order. Then they found out that his restaurant also wasn't licensed or inspected.

I think if you read between the lines, that is more or less what the mayor of Parry Sound was saying yesterday on CTV. When Dr Cheerios decision was made & no other health units followed suit, it should've been overruled. He should've been called up on the carpet asking why he felt the region's trail should be closed while other more populous areas stayed open.

Glad to see 10 & 11 open now & we never hear of Dr. Cheerios again.

You just know he would never have the balls to change his decision before the initial time frame had lapsed. That would mean he would have admitted he was wrong in closing the trails.

My dad and I are getting a bit bored riding the same trails around here lately so we decided to trailer up to Anten Mills and ride up to Port Severn to "inspect" his water access cottage.

We left from the club parking lot and did a bit of a side trail tour and had to get back on the C trail to Midland.    I was kind of surprised with the lack of snow compared to SW Ontario.   The snow is BEAT.   I am not sure if it is even groomable anymore?  Even at -10c it just like mashed potatoes with no life in it.   There was a ton of traffic on the trail.   You really had to keep on your toes as there were people coming at you at just about every corner.

Long story short the trail from Waub to Port Severn was brutal.    2 out of 10 would be generous.    We were concerned about having to ride it back to the truck as it was only going to get worse as the day progressed.

We made it to the cottage, checked the mouse traps and gave the place a quick once over and headed to the gas station for a burger and a beer.   We talked to some guys who just rode the lake from Midland to HH and said it was ok so we decided that was our best plan.   We got back to Midland and just rode the C trail back to Anten Mills.   The C trail was a 30km long whoop section.   I felt bad for the guys riding 20 year old iron.

We did talk to some guys who said the trails were mint to the north but agreed that they were falling apart the further south they went.

All and all it was still a day on our sleds, but the trails were beat around there.

We rode C trail south of Midland Penetang which is also a multi-use Tay Rail Trail mid week a couple of weeks ago. It was less than ideal and even mid week had lots of traffic that day. I can only imagine what it would have been like on Saturday

I rode the Bay from HH to Midland yesterday to get around the crappy trails around Port Severn.    The lake was pretty smooth and knocked at least an hour off my trip vs running whooped out trails back to Midand.

Those trails do tend to see a lot of traffic and get beaten up real quick. They were great early in the day.

    so he deserved to die??

It seems some people devalue the life of a senior compared to someone younger.

Should be open soon. Hopefully they last until end of March. Weather looks good for next few weeks. Good luck I hope to make it up March break.

March break is cancelled and delayed until April.

You must be one of the people that forgot that old people die.  Thats why everything is messed up right now.

They don't need to or deserve to die prematurely... I can think of a number of much younger people I sure wouldn't miss. My father-in-law is 93 and still going strong. His life isn't any less valuable than someone 43.

If I understand the trade agreement correctly, there isn't any duty on products manufactured in the U.S. coming into Canada. It's when a product is made outside of the U.S. imported to the U.S. and then gets shipped to Canada that you have duty.

Don't overdrive your line of sight.

    It's that simple.

Easy for me to say when I don't have a sled that will even think of keeping up with y'all. ;)

Exactly.... if you can't see over the crest of the hill or around the bend... slow down. I heard last week that snowmobile incidents, going through the ice, crashes between sleds and running into an obstacle like a tree have gone up 141% over the same period last year.

Sundays video of my friend getting hit on the trail. No injuries, just broken panels on both sleds and a bent running board. Guy on Yamaha blew corner, back of his sled slammed the side of my friends. Ride within your Abilities!

At least he has the video to make it easy for the insurance. Glad nobody got hurt.

And someone flamed me for sharing a major collision involving 2 sleds in Quebec. Idgit said to keep the opinion to ourselves. Looking @ the carnage you couldn't think that speed or wrong side of the trail was the cause.

Consider the idgit is just that... well maybe an arrogant entitled idgit

Good weekend to be off the trails anyway. Lots of crazy. Have Video of  my friend getting hit by a Yamaha blowing the corner 1/2  hour into our ride. Broke some panels  bent his running board, luckily not seriously hurt. Ended our ride early. We will go during the week instead....

We were out Wed and Thu last week and still had a couple of close calls with idiots racing around the corner or over the crest of a hill either on the wrong side or in the middle.

Yea don't understand those folks who don't clean up after themselves. Had a buddy do it and I reamed him out. Like, REALLY?

I had one person come up with the lame excuse that they didn't want to have evidence of them drinking and riding if they were stopped by the OPP so they left them behind.

Since the season is half over and residents in district 10&11can only experience sledding by reading the posts of sledders that live in districts not controlled by an idiot it is beyond frustrating. If Chiroco extends the lockdown on sledders then the province should reimburse trail permit costs to all sledders who cannot use something they paid for.

It's not the province doing this... it's one rogue medical officer. I wonder who hires and fires these people

    Guess where is up next?

That ends my week long trip to that area I planned weeks before this round of lockdowns started.

The article states the province is not instituting checks. Hwy 69 is a provincial hwy and not part of the city jurisdiction.

There are some pretty serious water problems in there and with the way the weather has been this winter, I doubt that the North River is even close to being somewhat safe ice travel. It may even still be open water.

Thanks... that's what I thought it would be.

Same for me pretty much always. I slow down to a crawl and move over as far as possible...just common sense.

I do the same and virtually every time the people I am passing wave in an acknowledgement of appreciation.

  18. Depending on the virus status and southern travel prices could be lower or even higher. Flip a coin. Not using it... sell. That's why I sold my wife's sled... not using it.

As for getting the heated seat... I thought I would never use it but the sled came with it. I accidentally hit the switch one time and suddenly thought... hmm... this is kinda nice. I can live without it but since I have it I appreciate it.
