  1. I have a Friend that drove to Smooth Rock on Sunday I talked to him last night said it was not best anywhere the trail was a long the highway but the rest was not bad . He said loops above Hearst were in good shape .

  2. I think from what I’m seeing I would drive to Smooth rock to start . There may not be more snow but at least the weekend traffic should have been lighter . Tough call but I would take the chance if that’s your only week to go for a while . Good luck let us know what you decide .

  3. I talked to Patrick from the magpie in Dubreuilville a couple days ago not much snow maybe 8 to 10 inches he would like to send the groomer to pack but not really enough snow . It’s going to take a snow storm to get things going and that’s not in the forecast . Hawk junction and south got the lake effect snow last week . Also closer to Soo missed the snow . Haven’t heard much about Hornpayne but I expect they’re low on snow also .

Nothing here to make me drive 7 - 10 hours for a teaser. I am a much more relaxed sledder since I accepted that the OFSC snowmobiling season is from the end of January until the middle of March, and mostly north (east) of 17. For current entertainment, I am buying a new street bike tomorrow. Same price as a sled and I get 7 months use out of it.

Congrats on the new bike !! Im with you I’m definitely not driving that far for poor conditions I’m not planning on anything till February.

Those are/were the crazy days - takes a long time to go a short distance and the bigger the group, the longer it takes!

Haha i here ya . This was my most memorable day sledding ever 12 of us 200 miles and 12 hours later and we made it to our destination

Looks like the groomer came through ahead of you tho.

We broke that open in 12/96 (different route back then tho) with no tracks and hardly any signs in -30*.

That day could have gone much worse...

  7. My son has a cottage 30 minutes east of Ville-Marie Quebec we will use it for our starting point and do some day rides from there for this year I’ve done Gaspie the last two years

  8. I’ve come to the conclusion that I will have to drive 8 hours minimum . I’m fine with that for now but going forward I may have to re think the whole thing .

Yep, green but not a ton.
cannot imagine there is enough base to venture off the trail either.

Thanks - expecting to see that trail this year than and why I asked!

It’s the most scenic trail I’ve been on if you hit at the right time .

    Very nice!

picture taken of/by your group, if so, what trail is that on?

It’s trail 595 north of LaCache not the trail to Murdockville . It is our group I can’t take credit for taking the picture Patrick Bouchard took it his pictures turned out a lot better than mine . We ended up taking it twice but the second time it was snowing the scenery was not near as impressive .
