I think they did a great job with the 2022's, they are moving in the right direction for sure. Decisons Decisons.. But I am really liking the XCR 136 for sure.

Was great to see the Team Ontario Ambassador's getting a shout out.

For sure it was Nunz, congrats & right at the start of the presentation!!

The XCR with a 136" track & tipped up rails sounds like a great setup!!

  2. I have been wearing an open face with goggles since 2009. I have a 509 XL5 goggles with a 509 helmet, XL goggles have larger face foam to help seal the opening if you have a big head like me! I wear an Unwind balaclava under my helmet & tape a couple of the vents closed. I have worn this setup in -20 to -25 weather without issues, just make sure your goggles & bala cover all your skin. I learned the hard way in -20 weather & had a small piece of frostbite on my face where I didn't double check to make sure all my skin was covered. I find the helmet/goggle combo lighter & less restrictive.

  3. If I recall when OSM stopped being the magazine that went with your trail pass, they had a one time sign-up to receive the magazine for free. If it's attached to Royal at all I wasn't aware of this. I've been receiving OSM for years without spending a cent. I also receive the Supertrax & Go Snowmobiling with my trail pass. There were a couple of boxes to click when you bought your pass & one of them was an online only version the other was for the magazine.

Unless things have changed I tried, but since the stickers have already lapsed and are over due, the online nor kiosk feature does not allow renewal of overdue permits.

My stickers expired in August & I renewed online just after Christmas

If any are racing related, Snotrack (USSA publication) or Race & Rally, contact the OSOR here in Ontario. They're really into the vintage oval racing (stock & factory sleds).

Thanks Rev, but I don't have any of those. They're Snowsports, Snowgoer Canada, OSM, etc

  6. I have countless sled magazines that probably date back to the late 90's. My question is would anyone be interested in these or a place/dealer/museum that might want them. They need to go but I don't want to just take them to the dump if I can find a place/someone who would like them for display or something.

We used the upnorth technologies dual adapter last year and it’s really good. Not cheap but it does work and fit well. If you’re looking for a single adapter South Simcoe Machine makes them and they are in Ontario great guys.

hope this helps. Congrats on your new sled btw

Thanks Nunz. I was debating between the dual upnorth & the single one's from South Simcoe, not sure if I need the dual one or not.

  8. I’m in New Liskeard right now for a small trip, drove up from the cabin to find trails. The trails we were on today had barely enough snow for lube on the sliders, the sleds were running hot. Haileybury trails weren’t bad but the trails in & around NL are pretty icy & rough in spots. I don’t think the trails should be shown as green as of right now.

  9. A motor grenading on a 2 stroke is a bit of grey area in my opinion. I had this happen to me with a friend before, I took a friend riding for a weekend & he was using one my sleds he had never been on sled trip before & was by no means hard on the sled. Before we left all I said to him was if you hit something you pay for the repairs, since you're in control of the machine. The sled ended up throwing a crank bearing & seized he didn't know what happened when I got back to him. I checked the sled out & told him the motor blew, the first thing out of his mouth was how much is that going to cost, I told him nothing I would fix it, I said its a snowmobile these things happen, he felt horrible & kept asking if I was sure I didn't want any money! Its the shit part about 2 strokes they just go without warning sometimes!! My situation is a bit different since I know the sled was warmed up properly all the time & he wasn't beating on the sled!!

    Just my $0.02!
