The other thing we saw I forgot to mention was when we were riding through Palmerston, we came across their warm up shack and the garbage can outside (which is nice) was full of empty beer cans. Couldn’t believe it.
saw the same thing in Mattawa last year as well at one of the lookouts except there was no garbage can there, just tossed all over the ground.
Damn Amish kids!

As an FYI, Meaford and Central Penn are both having Poker runs this weekend (Feb 15th) if trails are open, Southampton has one on Sunday (Feb 16th) and Stoney Keppel Riders are hosting on Feb 22 . All should be on the respective FB pages.

Some sledders stop in stupid places. Stopping on a hill, top or bottom, around a corner is stupid. We all like to stop and regroup..do it in a safe spot..somewhere that riders can see you at a distance..
If you have a break down, get off to the side off the trail if possible. If not, and have others with you, they can place themselves to warn others as to the danger. It ain't rocket appliances. flashing lights, waving hands and arms means something is wrong, slow the frig down.
Placing a helmet back on the trail a distance behind a broken down sled is a great signal

Pine is highly acidic and yes does require a huge amount of nitrogen to breakdown . Chicken poo has naturally occurring e-coli and salmonella. Can't see using chicken poo as any sort of fertilizer in a garden.

Obec premium MS out of Quebec!
Cedar/pine/birch/ash? What type? Some are poisonous to plant life due to acidic count

Not when you use shavings. It takes so much nitrogen to break them down. Trick is to compost first, but can take a year.
What type of shavings?

Probably 2 ft in the last 24 hrs in Chesley. Nice snow for packing, trails are open limited but should groom up nice.
