Sudbury area options would include:
Our group has had great trips out of both the North Bay and Sudbury areas in the past, but we have settled on greater Sudbury as the better sledding experience primarily because of better trail access. I haven't stayed at the Sportsman since the fairly recent ownership change, but its hard to beat the location on a main trail. We have stayed there in the past and been well served, but I know others haven't felt the same.
Our more recent 'go to' staging accommodation in the near north has been Windy Lake Motel, northwest of Sudbury near Levack. I can't say enough about this two generation family business. Their motel is just a basic motel, but they have a provincial highway to the door, fuel pumps on site, loads of parking for trucks and trailers, excellent local trails and access to the major trails to get on with the trip that you have planned (minus NB). Food has always been good, and when we have had mechanical issues, they have been most helpful. We have staged from Windy Lake up thru Gogama and Timmins to Cochrane, then back south via Kirkland Lake, Gowganda and back. That might be a little longer than you had planned, but it was all good.
Wherever you stage, have a great trip and let us all know how it goes.
Thanks for the info i will look into it. Here are some photos from last years adventure out of Wawa to Cochrane and back...

Cabin in the woods in Redbridge if its big enough. You can book on airbnb or direct. Avoids all the less than stellar trails near town. I hope you dont book my dates up on me. :).

I saw another air bnb in the same area posted on NB clubs facebook page.
Last option is Camp Conewango.

Seriously, I don't know exactly where you want to go on the trip, but I would never again use North Bay as my trip staging point. Most accommodations are a convoluted lousy sled ride to the good trails. Proper snow coverage is usually iffy until late in the season. Sudbury or even Sturgeon Falls offer much better good trail access. Just my opinion, of course, based on 30 years riding in the area.
It has been a while that i have rode out of North bay, but we always stay on the Lake then left for the North. I am planning on going to Smooth Rock, timmins, Sudbury back to NB with a group of 10

Back to back to start the trip. It is not a big deal if we have to stay in a hotel, but it is nice staying in a cabin all together for cards drinks and food.

Looking for help, I am planning a week long saddle bag trip starting in North Bay and looking for accommodations for 2 nights that can host 10 people?

Day 5 well 1 pic from day 4 the was left out, was a sunk sled pulled out from the groomer and disassembled in the bush removed most of the water new plugs and bam rode for 500 more miles back. We also had a sled blow up 1 mile from Raxfin in Kapaskasing, this company is the first I have ever seen a company have all the parts needed to rebuild a complete motor due to a fuel injector letting go. Fixed and back running that night. Lots of praise to the company in Kapaskasing.

Day 4 kap to Cochrane for lunch and back. Starting out great, got some trail side food at the grocery store, headed out toward smooth rock falls and found a nice place to build a fire and have some lunch. Ran the A trail and L123 and hats off to everyone involved with there hard work and great efforts for all the work they do putting these trails together for everyone!!!

Well trip update, we left yesterday at 6 am from Detroit and headed to Wawa Ontario and both groups made it to within. 1.5 hours of Wawa Motor Inn on Hwy 17 North and boom the Hwy was closed due the snow storm..if we were thinking we would of called for a report, but had pure sunshine and zero wind the whole way we were told it will be closed for possible 2 days... we then had to turn around and go back to Searchmont turn off and go 556 up to ranger lake adding 5.5 hours to the trip. Make it to Wawa at 9pm. Stay tuned for more....

Thanks for the update, I am assuming it will be hit or miss until north of Hornpayne from what I am used to, but hopefully they can groom up the new snow coming.

We are a group heading to Wawa and passing through Hornpayne, Hearst, Kap, Cochrane and back for a week. Most all of this group has never made this trip and will post pics and short as we go or when we get home. Weather and temps should be good.....stay tuned

Just completed the rap tour for my first time in 25 years of riding. What an experience and lessons learned. Here are some pics and places we stayed of our trip
DAY 1
Stayed at Casewell Motel in Sunbridge this place is a dirty hole and scam if said better, i have seen hunt camps in better condition, and the lady who runs could care a less about there customers very sad. My wife actually slept in her riding gear as there stained box springs and mattresses. She made it sound like they were sold out except for the last 4 lake front cottages. when we arrived we were told by workers that the lodge rooms were way worse, and basically we were the only people there. We had booked our last night there as well but cancelled once we saw how bad it was and she kept out deposits. Approx 120 miles
Day 2
We stayed with Mike and Brenda at Mattawa Golf and Ski, per recommended of others who have stayed there. Outstanding people pure amazement and nothing but first class!!! Food and hospitality was also first class!!!! Approx 120 miles
Day 3
Stayed at the holiday inn Express in Pembroke, all good and great ride. Approx 70 miles
Day 4
Stayed at Spectacle Lake with Sharon as recommended, first class place, food and hospitality was beyond amazing. Approx 75 miles
Day 5
Stayed at Lake View Motel in Halibuton this was an OK spot as well. Had to taxi into town. This was a long day at 138 miles back to the dump "casewell Motel" to load up and leave

Yes i am selling a product but was not aware of the fees, i would be happy to pay the fees to spread the word about this product. It is trailer lock that secures your trailer while in tow and not in tow. Go to the website to see the product. we are currently working on making a new website that shows better then what it is.

Jerry yes there are steel rods that are molded internally. As for the lock it is a Master Lock brand that is recessed on both side so if the lock was to be cut you would still be unable to access it
