Abitibi canyon milage??

Does anyone know the milage of the Abitibi Canyon loop , conditions and fuel if any?

Fuel (and lunch) is usually available from the Extreme Tours trailer near the canyon...but two cautions -- be sure to call ahead (1-705-272-6370) to confirm (1) that they'll have fuel, and (2) will be open whatever day you plan to go...don't just assume. Also, take lots of cash for fuel, as they don't take credit cards, and the cost per litre is $$$$$, due to the remote location. Last year, we paid $1.80/litre.

As for mileage, assuming you'll be starting in Cochrane, the east side of the loop up is about 150 kms from the centre of Cochrane, and the west side, which follows a utility corridor and thus is very straight and FAST, is 90 kms to Smooth Rock Falls, then 77 kms back to Cochrane via the "A". So, about 315 kms in total...and it's an awesome ride, although I understand there isn't nearly the same amount of snow cover in the whole region this year, so be careful off-trail in the Canyon itself.

What a lot of guys do since SRF is closer than Cochrane, is to fill up in SRF & ride up the west side of A103. Your tank won't need as much gas @ the trailer.
