Canuck
Read a report today that the truck stop is closed. North of North Bay, on the way to New Liskeard. We always got gas there, esp. north-bound. Great place to warm up, and food was memorable Anyone with local knowledge, please advise.

catdoo
Butler is n/of Kirkland Lake so hopefully different truck stop. I'm sure it's just a southerner's geographical error, once they get north of North Bay everything looks the same.

revrnd
I talked to the owner and they are doing renovations after the kitchen fire and should be open by end of December. Thanks for the update ! X2 We'll be stopping there (hopefully during our trip). Is it still open for gas or not? Mind you MacPhersons Esso is a bit south, but "off trail" so it's not a big issue. revrnd
Still boarded up as of today, dec. 17, have not seen any activity there since it was closed. Same thing to report as of last Fri'. Only activity was a trucker that was pulled in for a break. No sign of any "reconstruction". Maybe they could move 1 of the "cabins" over & use it? For our run from Cochrane to New Liskeard, we filled up in Cochrane the night before. Topped up in Matheson & used 29 L to go the 192 klicks to the Husky in New Liskeard (Using TOP A/A108/TOP A). JB1200GADE
I have talked to the owner Monica and they are not going to OPEN the truck stop again, it is up for sale and they have a few bites on it but nothing firm yet.If your looking for some of Monica's pie's and pastry she owns the KENOGAMI KITCHEN restaurant and gas bar just off the A-trail in Kenogami west of Kirkland Lake there are signs on the A-trail.
