We're planning a trip to Quebec this year instead of Sharbot Lake (for now) and was wondering if anyone on here has been? If so where did you stay and where would you recommend going? What is the trails like right now? Considering we have zero snow right now :curse: :curse: :curse: We will be leaving next Friday so please help us out if you can. Thank You :)

hi nicole!Your best bet might be Launadier region.I was there 4 years ago when we didn't have any snow in ontario at this time of year. This area northeast of Montreal gets alot of snow!!We trailered to Jolliet and went from there.May have to start a little further north this time, maybe Rawdon or St.Donat.Lots of excellent places to stay St.Mikeal des saints,Auberge le Cabon is a great place to stay and ride from!!Just check Quebec federation website.Great trails in this area. Lots of hills ( the area borders on the east side of Mt. Tremblant ) bush land and open farm fields to the south.well groomed and very freindly people!!

yes you need a quebec trail pass.We had 3 day pass and the hills are easy to ride on.It is very scenic. You will want to stop for a lot of pictures!!!Every place we stayed at was geared for snowmobilers! $60-$65 got a nice place with supper and breakfast included.Of course if you want spas and saunas and massages they have places that have those ,just more money lol!!!When its just the guys you go cheap,if the ladies are going then you go a little classier! you can't go wrong with a trip to Quebec!!!

Be very careful about locking and securing your sleds, truck and trailer or they will be gone. Theft can be a serious probem in those areas.

We spoke to a guy last year who had trailer and 2 sleds stolen from hotel. Not sure what part of the province, but he mentioned that police commented many Ontario sleds, trailers go missing.

If you have an enclosed trailer, consider a sticker or other warning device to lower the risk ...

This decal on the trailer should detract would be thieves..

We will watch the sleds very carefully. The resort said they have parking for snowmobiles. If you look at the pictures on the site it shows an enclosed area for sleds. We booked the place now so hopefully it will be a great place. I will report back when we get back.

:woot:

Apparently , they have tons of snow right now. Hopefully! The trails will be awesome to ride on when we get there. I'm looking forward to this trip. This is my kind of sledding lol.. travelling all over the place and meeting new sledders all the time.

Made a trip last year with my and we had a great time. People are freindly and the trails are awesome. We stayed near st Donat and every single night we saw the groomer go by just after dark. If you ski or board don't forget them. Have fun.

Cool! We're looking forward to our trip this coming Friday. Did you guys like it? Where the trails easy to navigate? We will be sledding through the woodrunner trails. Apparently they are very good trails to ride and well looked after.

In addition to your Quebec trail pass, make sure you have a mirror on your sleds. If you don't have or don't want two mirrors, you must have a minimum of one mirror attached to the port side of your snowmobile.

  • 2 weeks later...

We're back from our trip. The trails are amazing in Quebec. Very wide and tons of snow.. The speed is 70kms instead of 50 like it is here. Some good drivers some very bad drivers ha-ha... considering i'm a new sledder I did very well. Manage to keep up with Rick this time lol , for the most part that is. We climbed mountains and went down mountains. Through forest and through small towns. We started out in Ste Adele and rode to St. Donat which is 140 kms round trip. Took almost all day since we stopped for food and also when you climb so many mountains etc it seems like your doing 400 kms lol..

Everyone was friendly and very helpful. The place we stayed at is VERY quiet , nice but no party :(.. we managed to find some in town places to hang out at. When we go again next year we won't be staying at the same place. We found a really nice place in St Esterel which is probably where we will stay at. Nice resort with the trails starting on property.

We would highly recommend Quebec!
