After spending the last two winters shoveling barn roofs, and numerous accidents with the FD, I'm ready for a little less snow this winter. I know this is a forum for snowmobile enthusiasts. Bring out the torches and pitch forks lol 2 Quote
Spiderman Posted September 18 Posted September 18 El Nino 2.20L for premium 2.35L for diesel not good for some time will tell Quote
stoney Posted September 18 Posted September 18 Might be in everyone's best interest to just pass on this winter, avoid the insurance cost, defer the repairs one more year, trail set up burden (labour & $$).....and pocket the cash for a stronger one next year..... I do like how Dave in the other video/thread repeatedly stated anything could happen and do not bet the bank, BUT the models show ...... Tells me there is hope, always is, the weather has a mind of its own, regardless of our footprint......there is always somewhere to ride, within reason, I cannot recall a year where I did not have options. 1 Quote

stoney Posted September 19 Posted September 19 I don’t follow diesel prices that much but has the gap between regular and diesel always been that much - I don’t think so? Quote

Diesel used to be a little cheaper than gas at one point years ago. You could pay for the truck on fuel savings. 1 Quote

I remember regularly paying $.39/liter for diesel. When they went to the Low sulfer variety, diesel was generally 10-20% more than gas. Quote
04nightfire Posted September 23 Posted September 23 Only thing I can attribute the rise in diesel fuel to is, I bought my first diesel truck. 1 3 Quote

Seems to be higher than 20% now.....based on what I see, it is 40% higher. Is diesel taxed higher than gas and the reason for the larger gap these days.....not as though all motives of transportation that delivers our goods does not get moved around on some form of a diesel vehicle......? Sledguy74 Posted September 23 Posted September 23 I was reading about the next gen of GM pickup engines that 3.0 Duramax has a range of 1400 kms on one tank? thats great except for the fuel costs the 8.3 mongoose will be a brute lol new 5.7 and 6.6 gas engines both making over 400 hp Quote
RAMSOMAIR Posted September 23 Posted September 23 Unfortunately when you factor in all the maintenance and repair costs of modern diesels with the emissions BS, all those savings you thought you had disappear. Quote

That ford will still be running problem free for years after that GMC is in the shop on a regular basis with massive service bills..... Might hit a few nerves with all the Chevy lovers on here....lol 2 Quote

Only had 67K on it and it had already been if for front end work, multiple CEL gremlins and not to mention rear taillights at $3500 a pop. Yes, I could have gone to some cheap aftermarket but didn't want to. Quote

Best I've seen so far driving out to Midland and back with a 600 lb. electric motor in the box was 6 L/100km. I fill up about every 3 weeks. With the Super Duty, it was once a week. 44 minutes ago, Spiderman said: Company vehicle = their problem Damn straight 2 Quote

I know the tail lights on the Lighting are stupid bucks, no idea the "normal" ones were that much. I think about replacing by Dodge every so often, but it has been so good to me, knock on wood......I have a hard time coming to terms with getting rid of it. 2 Quote
