Theres 2 different cushion sizes and 3 height settings. That is the taller one i think in the pic and set in high position. 2 hours ago, scottyr said: Any idea how much those seats are going to cost?. pretty sure its cheaper than the normal one. Definately smaller. I'd consider it just for the under seat storage. Quote

If I remember correctly, they’re $650+tax. i like the idea of being able to adjust the height, but I'm hearing they’re firmer than the stock seats which I’m not sure I want to give up. my Yamaha viper seat is firm compared to the 900T heated seat which is incredibly comfortable. so if it’s firm like my viper seat, I don’t want it. Firmer is good with me. I find the BRP seats way too soft compared to a Matryx or a new Cat. Quote

You have the wide comfort seat on the 900T......the newer one is still on the soft side, but noy as soft on the previous version. Both are too soft for me, the 850 seat is perfect, but the idea of being able to have it a bit higher would be nice. 3 Quote

Wouldn't the softer seat be more comfortable - in theory at least? and why wouldn't anyone want a nice soft seat? Just curious 1 Quote

Changed the comfort seat out on my 23 900T to a seat from an XRS, this was a game changer for me, It changed my posture and I sat up higher , this made me like my sled coming from a Cat chassis. 3 Quote

Just curious I think it depends on the person. The xrs seat is not a 2x4 by any means, it has firmer foam so when you sit down, you do not sink into the seat so much that your butt is now 3” lower than where the top of the seat started. With the xrs seat it is higher to start with and less sag, so the angle of your knees is less sitting more upright, making it way more comfortable, but with less sag and a more narrow seat, it’s better for an active rider to move from side to side, plus its edges are more defined/firm and do not roll over like on the comfort seat, it’s really better all around, IMO. 3 Quote
CAT RIDER Posted April 4 Posted April 4 Exactley, no matter what I did I could not get comfortable , tried all configurations of the handle bars to no avail. , Back legs and arms feel way better, I dont get tired riding or sore. Quote

Got it - that helps. As you know, I ride old tech - and it's just what "i know". Quote
scottyr Posted April 7 Posted April 7 If you spend more than 15 mins on a new Polaris and a new Doo, you will quickly realize that the seat on the Doo is too soft and squishy if you are an aggressive/active rider. My 26 MXZ seat is like a pillow that sucks you into it whereas the Polaris allows you to sit on the seat more like a dirt bike. I loved the LYNX seat for this reason. If you just plop down on the seat and rarely move then you will probably like a Doo seat. Quote

Just curious Not sure why anyone would want a firm seat. Doesn’t make sense to me. I’ve put on plenty of 500+km days on my viper, and my arse starts feeling it after about 350kms or so. I’m only about 150lbs and lean though, so maybe that’s why. I haven’t ridden a 500+km day on the new doo yet, but man is that seat ever nice compared to the viper seat. So plush! 👌🏻 I think if the viper seat was the same as the doo, people might actually think the cat suspension is good 🤣 1 Quote

My last few cats had the mountain seat, its is higher with a firmer more narrow seat. I get the plush argument, but it really comes down to your style of riding and maybe your height too plays a factor, like scottyr said, some seats just feel more like a dirt bike while others do not. my issue of a long day on the comfort seat is my hips/groin get sore from the angle, and it’s just not the same feeling powering through a corner, tight to the right as you shift your weight to the inside when you are on the same sled with the two seats. It’s nice to have options for sure…I have three seats right now for my sled - stock comfort, my 1+1 seat and my MXZ seat…lol. 1 Quote
Steve F6 Posted April 12 Posted April 12 The new 27 trail seats are flatter, a touch firmer and look a bit taller.Snapped this pic of a 27 BC adrenaline at Gieslers a couple weeks ago. I think thats the orange crush colour on the spindles and rails which looks pretty good! I ordered a mxz X in orange and haven't seen a pic of a real life one yet. 2 Quote
1049 Posted April 12 Posted April 12 The Orange looks good in pictures I ordered my first yellow sled 900r 6 Quote

But i have to do something about it. Have you done anything to try and fix it? I hear this a lot about the Mach’s. It shouldn’t be. You have all of the components to make a great ride. Maybe try loosening the front springs off, put a set of snow trackers on it and maybe adjust the limiter strap setting. Also get the rear sag set for your weight. What about it is it that you hate? Heavy steering? Rough ride? Inside ski lift? Does seem like ski doo missed the mark on factory settings on this model. Quote

My Mach is heavy to steer. From all the reading I have done, it is a common issue with them. That said, with Bergstrom triple points it goes where you ask. My reading indicates that like you stated semi aggresive sno trackers are the top voted cure for the heavy steering. The heavy steering is the only negative about the sled and by the end of last winter I hardly noticed it any more, otherwise I have never ridden as comfortable sled before. I am currently getting the smart shocks serviced since it seems that if they aren't serviced every 2-3 seasons they may require very expensive replacement. Quote
signfan Posted June 6 Posted June 6 Other thing worth trying is let the limiter strap out a bolt hole. That and / or increase the pre-load on the front shock in the rear skid. Quote
stoney Posted June 7 Posted June 7 I think the heavy steering also has to do with what you came off of and the difference between the old and new. when I first rode my doo the steering felt so light, it was awesome, but needed some more bite, as you find that happy place you inevitably add some pressure to the front to achieve that, so I think that is why the snow trackers are so well reviewed by adding bite, not overly aggressive bite though without adding more pressure/weight to the skis. perhaps not riding as much now vs before also plays a role….you are not in your prime sledding shape/form as well 😂 2 Quote
Mach Z Posted June 8 Posted June 8 I have no problem with the steering. It is fine. The problem i have is the sled is 2 inches (or so) lower than a regular XRS sled and i notice it. It's fine, rides nice and all but the setup isn't for me. Quote

After MY24, all of the 900 XRS went to the same front end height as the Mach. Quote
