Love heated shirt find heated pants are abit too warm. Quote

Trust me. I think the same way, what more do we need or want.....but as mentioned, there is always that next best thing that most did not even think they needed until they see the new release details....lol I am most curious to see what Cat may have, not expecting much, but with all that has gone on with Cat, I hope they have something that continues to keep the brand right side up and people still interested in buying Cat's! 2 Quote

I'll still be shopping for a non-current something else I'm too cheap to drop that kind of coin on a sled Love this set up....but the price is kinda rude. No bags added so one could plan on another 500 bucks just for some asorage. Quote
signfan Posted February 18 Posted February 18 Unfortunately we are seeing what a lack of competition leads to. It’s a weak economy. They know there is a limited set of folks that will buy new. Very good chance those sales are occurring regardless of whether they introduce anything flashy new or not. So they just fixed their weaknesses in their lineups. New software for the guage. Motor upgrade to compete with the Polaris 650. And an update on the utility lineup. Polaris did the same expanding already offered suspension options to more of their lineup. Hopefully arctic cat shakes things up, but I suspect they are a year away from doing that. 2 Quote
scottyr Posted February 18 Posted February 18 I bet you see a Turbo 858 from Cat. It was ready to be launched just before the Textron implosion. My buddy is a Cat dealer in Quebec and he got a lot of R&D stuff sent to him to air freight to the Natives way up north in Quebec to test as they have good snow until the end of May most years. He had an 858 to test 4 years ago. There are some serious go-fast guys way up north on the Rez in Quebec. He also told me that there is an 1100 4 stroke ready to go to replace the 998 but there is only so much money available to release new products. 4 Quote

Mach Z Posted February 18 Posted February 18 The start stop feature is on the 600 doo ridiculous. Thought up by some granola muncher Im sure. 1 3 Quote

Interesting to see what the chassis will be or look like with the 4-stroke mill....odd they are still going back to the 1100cc size vs. sticking closer to the 1000cc size like Doo and Yami did, I wonder if similar or same parts as the old Cat 4-stroke engine. 1 hour ago, mach Z said: No money out there for new ideas and shake ups. It has always been said most of the new ideas and tech are mostly for the mountain segment, which is a younger person's sport that I think is still going strong, but maybe not as strong as before, I have no idea what the health of that segment is today. 1 Quote
signfan Posted February 18 Posted February 18 One thing they did bring back on the xrs is decent shocks. Full clickers and I believe at least the fronts have re-bound adjustments. Much better than the 3 position options they have been offering lately. Quote

I honestly didn't expect much, since they needed winter to clear out 2023 to 2025 and some limited 2026. Most dealers are sold out now, they could get more create to my 2028 👍 1 Quote
Candubrain Posted February 18 Posted February 18 Very surprised no EPS. Face the facts, it's generally us older guys buying new, 4 strokes are becoming more popular, put those two together and you get the "Steering is too heavy" statements. You want less sales, you want older people out of the sport? Why do people need to spend money on gadgets to make steering easier? Cat has the right idea, I hope they are very successful with the EPS. Guessing that is what it will take to wake up the other manufacturer's Quote

There is a video of a guy on FB that put one into the cat snowcross chassis and seems to run pretty good. Quote

I didn't realize there was no patient on it. My guess it, it makes sled more complicated to build and they don't want to do some with eps and others without. I looked into what it would take to install it on a current 900. Very hard to do because steering post has to be cut to fit in power steering rack. Can be done if you throw enough dollars at it. 1 Quote

scottyr Posted February 18 Posted February 18 The 998 is gone Arctic Cat built less than 300 9000 Series sleds for MY26. Yamaha is moving on from the 998 even in the SxS after this year. 1 Quote

The wife wants one for the house up north, I said no way, I can buy one hell of a nice, newer, used, mid sized truck, and be way more comfortable and have an extended fuel range, for the same price. Not to mention better resale, when we sell the truck. Ski 3 Quote

I mean it didn't gain allot of traction in industry. I thought it was patented but apparently not. Number one and number 2 manufacturers haven't adopted it yet, that's kind of shocking. I know you enjoyed yours. Quote
Arctic JC Posted February 19 Posted February 19 Not too much new for Cat either. EPS across the board, G8 gauge on the Tcat, a revised 146” skid with raised rear wheels, and the El Tigre is back. Sleds do look good though!! 4 Quote

The Ice Arrowhead track gives really good straight line and lateral side to side traction. I dont think that the braking traction is as good as I hoped though. It is a very quiet track as well with zero vibes especially compared to my 146 Cobra with 2 studs per bar. After putting 2000kms on it, I would buy it again for sure. 3 1 Quote
