1049 Posted January 31 Posted January 31 If I remember correctly it is 256 km . 144 to halfway and 112 to Wawa but it’s been a few years. Quote

skidooboy Posted January 31 Posted January 31 @1049, is correct on the 256. It varies depending on the trails utilized by the clubs due to logging/re-routes. Generally speaking in miles it is 90 miles from Searchmont to Halfway Haven (not open, no fuel no services). Then it is approximately another 70 miles to Wawa from Halfway. You can contact Kirk, through the Wawa snow drifters fb page, and contact someone from the Soo club on fb as well, they will verify distances for you. Ski Quote
wisted Posted February 1 Author Posted February 1 Appreciate the responce, as soon as that route opens we will be up there. It has been a long time since we have visited the area(2016). Hope to bring back the memories when we first started taking that route(1996) 1 Quote

I would avoid the stress and drama of no food, fuel, services between Searchmont and Wawa, and just drive the 2.25 hours to Wawa, and start there. 6-10 hours on sleds, two times in a weekend, or start at Wawa and go reach other areas, without being "trapped" in the hydro line corridor for 2 days. Good luck on the trip, keep us posted. Ski Quote
Ox Posted February 4 Posted February 4 Two days? I seen plenty of fella's roll through Halfway that could round-trip Searchmont to Wawa and be back by supper time! -30C and I'm all about letting that sun come up for a while before heading outside, but these jokers roll INTO Halfway at 8:30am looking for food and gas! Jack - that is NOT me! . 1 Quote

I'm with you on the -30, staying in the house until it gets a bit warmer. If it doesnt... It's a good day to sit inside and drink. Ski Quote
