Seems the 93 between Poularies and Taschereau is still closed. I believe its a culvert being installed. Im watching and waiting for the 309 rapid 7 to open. Seems to be a land use issue north of malrtic on 307 which is a bummer. Makes for a longer day doing the temiscaming to amos run.

We are on a mini ride this weekend up there.     Driving to Ville Marie on friday am, staying in Rouyn on Friday night and then heading over to Val Dor on Sat and then back to the truck on Sunday.

Did the trail from Murdochville running west through the centre of the peninsula ever get reopened? It’s been a few years but that was the best trail in the entire region. I hear they have lots of snow this winter. Good conditions.

As of this morning the whole Gaspe loop is open except for a spot in the southwest corner near Pointe le Croix and it is susppose to open Jan. 17.

Great to have the Chic Choc trail open again

last year around this time, a fairly good portion in that corner was not open yet - much better year so far!

Although the trail through the chic choc was open earlier and I saw it closed I think late last week, but now good, I wonder if they had that mild spell with rain too.

I picked up my buddy at 5:30 am on Friday and we headed to Ville Marie.    Great driving all the way up.    Roads were dry as a fart from Bracebridge to Temiskaming and then instantly turned to icy crap as soon as we crossed the bridge.

We parked at La Bannik ($5/day to park) and were on the trail by 2pm.     Trails were excellent to Rouyn Noranda.    We stayed at the Quality Inn.    It was packed with a hockey tournament.

We couldnt get a room for Sat night so we decided to head to Val Dor via LaSarre and Amos.     Trails were 9/10 but there was a lot of traffic.     There is a section just east of Poularies that has been torn up by an excavator and it is 2 kms of total sh-t.     Other than that the trails were mint.   Every warm up shack was full of people.    Made it to the Forestel by 6pm.

Trail from Val Dor to Ville Marie was bumpy most of the way.     I would give it a 6/10.     They still need to do some trail work and they could use some snow in places.

Made it back to La Bannik by 2:30 and on the road at 3:08pm.    Dropped my buddy off in Wartburg at 9:30 and was on the couch in Mitchell by 10.

759kms on my trip meter.

I have some other pics but they may show people having a beer in a warm up shack and I dont want to shamed over that.

It'll be a temis to amos and back overnighter. Likely take 309 on the way up then maybe pressiac, rouyn, ville marie on return. Enjoy!

If anyone is in this area can they keep an eye open for an SR21 linq bag along the trail between Winneway and Ville Marie?

My buddy lost a bag somehow along this route on Sunday.     Someone posted on FB that the bag may be in the Winneway warm up shack.

It’s in the new warmup shack. Saw it today

Obviously no one in your group had space for it?      I will let my buddy know.     We are going to Gaspe next Monday otherwise it would have been a good excuse to go up and get it this weekend.

My buddies backed out on the trip as well. Perhaps try posting on the QR facebook page or website. Gotta be someone from ontario rolling thru there this week that could grab it. Other option is seeing if the club could grab it and prepay the shipping.

I sent the club a note that my buddy would pre pay the shipping and throw in an extra hundo if someone could even hold onto it until we got back up mid Feb.
