Sksman Posted December 9, 2025 Posted December 9, 2025 Can anyone recommend a place for me to take my wife for a couple nights? Within 3 or 4 hours or so of Toronto area. Looking for a nicer place with restaurant on site. Fireplace possibly for her to read by. We might sled a little bit or I might! Quote
T bird Posted December 9, 2025 Posted December 9, 2025 Elk lake Wilderness Resort is nice. Stayed there a few years back. Nice renovated cabins w fireplace. Meal plan was reasonably priced and food was amazing. They also have a sauna on site as well, plus premium fuel Quote
Re:Leaf Posted December 9, 2025 Posted December 9, 2025 Blue Spruce resort is located just east of Dwight on hwy60 and the Oxtongue river. They have nice cabins with kitchens, and fire places. If you want to dine out, there are restaurants in Dwight, Dorset, and Huntsville. 1 Quote
J Feces Posted December 9, 2025 Posted December 9, 2025 Couples resort in Whitney is popular..so I’m told, I’ve personally never stayed. Lots to do and see in Algonquin park and surrounding area. Plus…your right on the B trail if you wanted to go for a rip!! Quote
Nunz Posted December 9, 2025 Posted December 9, 2025 its a bit of a hike but here's a couple of suggestions Timmins- Cedar Meadows with the wolf cabins, they have a spa and a nice restaurant on site and wagon ride everyday. Temagami Shores is quite night and the cabins/rooms are very well done. Spectacle Lake Lodge has always been one of my favourite places to visit over the years. Hope this helps 2 Quote

Sksman Posted December 10, 2025 Author Posted December 10, 2025 Thanks for the suggestions everyone a few to ponder for sure. Best option might be to leave a day early and seeing as she has to work that day I can enjoy riding all weekend and she can sit by our fireplace at home! 1 2 Quote

Always great staff and seems to get good reviews 👍 1 Quote

Love it sound there. Great trails, great accommodations, and great hospitality 1 Quote

Renting cottages more than anything. I see on their FB page they are offering monthly cottage rentals over the winter. Quote

We might sled a little bit or I might! could always go to Deerhurst. If you're only "possibly" going to sled, you can take the trailer and sleds to a drop off point close by - or hit them from the lakes once good to go. Quote

Have you ever met my wife yet? Or seen her looking out cottage windows in winter? I am trying to be a nice husband and involve her the odd winter weekend. When I considered buying a Harley she commented that she doesn’t see me from January to April and if you buy a bike when will she see me at all? I thought that was the point of buying motorsports toys! 4 Quote

I think its still on or close to the trail. Quote
