Interesting!

We have a fairly new dealer location that moved in the other end of our road in town.  Lot’s of Poo stock in there for sure.  Was even considering a SxS purchase with them but not ready for that toy yet.

Just drove by there yesterday and hoped I had time to stop in but Mrs & I are sick at present. Will have to look into this.

There is going to be more of this happening.

Peak Powersports is closing their London location as well next week.

The issue really becomes more about service, less places doing it =slower return.

will be more

Is this an Ontario only thing - is QC seeing the closure of powersports businesses or BC, two regions that comes to mind that I would have have/had a strong industry for outdoor powersports, maybe NB too....

Stoney, I know you like to compare everything here to QC - but it doesn't matter - because it isn't apples to apples.

There is a lot more that goes into a business closure than strictly unit sales/volume.

Not sure if you're really aware or not- but Ontario is hurting, hurting badly actually. :)

This kind of stuff should surprise nobody.

They wouldnt take my offer on a used unit. It was reasonable one too.

Anyway, people should study cash flow

Actually, compared to a few provinces that also have a strong power sports following that came to mind, QC being one of them.

there is no doubt pain felt across the board, but being that I do work all across Canada I see provinces that appear to be handling things better than others, Ontario is not one handling it better but has the highest population as well.

Same industry, sure, but not necessarily the same challenges day to day.

The only similarities a shop in one province would have to another is a sign on the outside, bringing a unit in - putting on the floor - and seeing it go out the door.

Beyond that - it's hard to compare anything really.

If you have business A that operates in 100 locations across Canada and location 1.2.3 see a decline in business, the business needs to decide to keep presence at a loss or break even to weather the storm or shut it down based on reduced sales, local hurtles, provincial incentives, long range outlook, etc…regardless of what they sell.

All my point was is if shops are closing here in Ontario, I wonder if the same is happening in other provinces to the same degree based on declines regionally within the Powersports world.

BC has a huge mountain segment that I’m sure isn’t doing great, but how bad is it, QC has a large tourist attraction in this sport with a much more favorable season and NB seems to have a large Powersports group that from my understanding are made up more of older machines vs new iron…hence my three examples for comparison purposes of places closing within the Powersports industry.
