Trails are now officially closed

I hope next sled season is as good (or better) as this past season has been. As well, I hope all the OC'ers and your families have a great summer!

I hope so as well.  Didn't get many kms on this winter as I wanted, but was still a good winter.  I hope you and everyone else has a great summer as well.

I thought seeing a couple on the trail was for me as i scooted by 😂

that then elevated my concern of seeing more even closer…😂

getting out on the trails early enough and still being able to see the foot traffic from the night or early, early morning is pretty neat…but concerning as you turn the corners and wonder what if.

My buddy and I were on the rail trail coming home from Coldwater at night.  Cow and Calf had popped up on to the trail and I caught the back end of the calf. Luckily, zero damage to the sled.  Got my leg and the front spindle but couldn't find anything else wrong with the sled.

Calf was okay and mom did not come charging at you protecting the calf?

Sound like you had a lucky day that could have been much worse.

They just kept on trucking.  Got off the trail a few hundred feet up from where I clipped it.  They were both on the railbed going the same direction as me.  Locked the sled up with nowhere to go.  Slid up beside the calf and caught the back end of it.

Wifey had a couple surgeries this winter, so no sled for me. Got out for a couple side road rips but thats it. Missed early spring salmon fishing on top of that but got out the last 2 mornings. Still a few salmon lurking around. Ate them all day yesterday and just about to clean one for the freezer. Threw 2 back.

So nice to be back on the water.
