I know a few guys with expeditions and they really like them.  I had a Titan and that sled was great.  Real comfortable sled to ride.

Going to check out the new Polaris units today.:

My son was scrolling briefly on his phone on the way home from the rink last night - he said they look "cool"

Polaris didn’t add a turbo to their 4 stroker, new rear skid for XCR

Titan looks nice , grandson would love the second seat lol

BTW, NOT a new rear skid in the XCR, just different torsion springs (long tail) They came off the XC race sleds and there's some folks out there have been performing this mod for a few years now.  Nice to see, the XCR now comes with the 7s as standard. No 850, just 650 and 9R.  Just imagine a 9r short track in the twisties.. YAY!

That is about the dumbest thing I have read on here.

Ridiculous

Buy a 2000 XCR 800 and take the kids out on the lake!

I tried a S4 Indy adventure the other day. They’re fine if you’re just a cruiser, and if you’re not a speed demon like some, but I personally found it had no power. I like the 130-140hp range, but that’s just me. There’s definitely a sled out there for everyone

These prices are why I never see myself buying a new sled in the foreseeable future.  The sled I picked up in the fall for $3200 served its purpose quite well this winter.

The price of the new ones is definitely crazy.  A 9R XCR is $30k w tax before a single accessory.  Even a XC 650 is $22k OTD with no 7S if you snowcheck.  Murray Motorsport had ‘24 XC 850’s for $12.5, you could have had 2 for slightly $$ less then the XCR.  I don’t see myself snowchecking a sled in the future, will hold out for a deal on leftover.  Something like this…

And upgrade shocks at some point.

I was wondering what you will buy in the future to replace your thundercat. Skidoo 900 turbo r, upgrade the shocks, and add the mcx turbo  kit?

With the options available today, most likely a 900 turbo R and depending on model shock upgrade and MCX kit would be nice. Too bad we didn't see Polaris finally add a turbo 4stroke to their lineup. A left over Sidewinder, Riot, or Thundercat could be an option but my Thundercat still has fairly low milage and lots of life left, so those will more then likely be sold by the time I'm ready to purchase. The next sled will be a 4 stroke turbo, may only have skidoo to choose from and I'm okay with that, lots to like about 900 turbo R renegades.

It has more power than a 900 ace which is 90 hp. I believe s4 is 100 hp right on money. It depends how and where you ride. If I ride with my son or wife it's enough power. By myself trying to keep up with average trail rider it isn't enough jam usually.  For around farm and cruising  with family it's  perfect engine. Oil changes are a pain no doubt especially if you only ride it 500 km's. This is one reason I rather have a two stroke. Add oil and not have to worry about changing it, ever.
I like the new doo 130 hp 4 stroke but not weight. I like an etec but doo not making it anymore in allot of configurations. Maybe I have to buy that expedition too and put it thru the farm as a work sled 😆

I only rode it for about a half hour, but it was enough to make me realize it’s not enough power. I’ve heard reports around the 90hp mark.
I think you would be very disappointed with the power.
Extremely quiet motor, felt like a dirt bike, sounds like a tractor, just not enough power though. You could get into a renegade X 900T for around $22k out the door.

I rode with a 900 Ace in front of me for 2 days last week and it hit 152 km. on the lake. It was quite impressive for what I was told is a 95 hp. sled.

Depends on gearing. I have grand touring se it come close to that figure too, but power really drops off after 85 km's an hour, compared to a two stroke. It's an enough for a family guy out for a cruise no doubt. Average sledder will be disappointed in it. It is 90 hp, which is close to old 440 Indy's in comparison. Good on fuel no doubt. I miss my etec 600.

If I could change engine I would buy 130 hp version next time. That be equal to 600 two strokes of today.
it has been very reliable besides intial coil issues we had when new. Not as heavy as old 1200 either.

My old 4stroker sounded like a tractor too and I missed the two stroke sound

I Always liked the expedition lineup

it’s too bad Doo didn’t make a ETEC 650

Do you have a choice of gearing when ordering a new Doo?

I know a guy who has an Indy 137" with the S4 and he rides with a guy who has a 900ace Skidoo. The Indy is louder, slower and burns 30%+ more fuel than the 900ace. He isn't exactly happy about it.

I’d be disappointed to burning 30% more fuel
