Candubrain
This is the "Would have, Should have, Could have" discussion It was probably 3 yrs ago the Southern trails were open all the way to Turkey Point, albeit only for a week. I wanted to ride a loop from Bruce County down to Turkey Point and up the West Coast home taking 2 or 3 days. Couldn't get anyone interested, now they wish they had.......lol
Spiderman
Hmm, good topic. Only thing I haven't done that I want to do - is head west and hit the mountains for a week. It's on the to do list with my son - once his hockey dreams are full filled, we'll make the time and scratch it off the list. I have 2 should haves. 1. Kept my 1996 Polaris Ultra. I loved it - and really regret letting it go 2. Kept my 2004 Pro X 600 - and put a Carls Cycle 660 kit in it
1049
I always wanted to ride from home (20 km south of where the actual trail starts) to Dubreuilville Hearst Cochrane and back home but never had anyone that adventurous to do it with me. But now I don’t see the snow ever being good the whole way . Plus age is becoming a factor lol .
J Feces
Some old guys in our neighborhood rode from home, Forest area to Whitney-LSP area a few times over the years. Always said I would do it one day…2.5-3 day ride about 750 km by sled. Will have to be one awesome winter to ever do it again. Trail network not what it was 20-25 yrs ago.
Blackstar
The wife and I rode down to Turkey Point 10-12 years ago just to say we did it. The trail is only opens down there about every 4-5 years. I think they were open for about a week that time. I did a loop one day around Strathroy with some guys one time for the same reason. I Regret buying that Fusion 900 in 2005. 1

stoney
Like all I am sure, I always wish I got out more, but happy with what I did do that season. Regret not venturing into QC earlier than I did to ride. I miss the group I used to ride with that would all start at a buddies house on Simcoe in Keswick and head north Fri for a weekend of riding and fun at one of two buddies Muskoka cottages for the weekend......it was almost always an adventure running the trails from just north of Orillia to D103B/B trail. I also miss doing short loops and runs in and around Simcoe, especially on the West side, riding to Georgian downs for some gambling, etc.... It was crazy how quick you would put on the miles each year when you lived so close to the trails and a lake you could ride on and from.
Ox
We had a cold spell a half dozen* years ago that ... well, it was prolly 10 yrs ago by now ... anyway, it was cold enough that the rivers had tightened up enough to ride. I didn;t have time then, and usually don't have time, but I still want to one day (more likely 2 days) to hop on Bean Crick (Tiffin River) here, and run that down to the Muddy Maumee River, and run that to Fort Wayne, Indiana, and pick up the St. Joe River there, and run that all the way back home. That's be a LOT of turning on a Summit if there wasn't much snow cover! One is 4-5 miles S/E from me, and the other is not more than 10 miles west of me. I rode upstream of the Tiffin at the time to get on it with a '99 600 Summit, and that wasn't too bad, but an 850 x 165" might tire the upper body after a while. What I found so interesting, is that I may as well had been way out in the bush! Down in the river bottoms, you're always down in the tree line, and every once in a while you pass someones "camp". (home) It just felt so remote! I would like to make the big run one day when it gets that tight again. We hoped to make a similar run out of Hearst back in 2008, but we squeaked 2 motors right away with the sleighs on behind. Should have raised the needles! Decided I wasn't dragging sleighs again 'till I had fuel infection or 4 stroke. . *Sorry, don't know the metric equiv of that one?

extreme600
Two things I regret 1-we did a trip in 1996 from Gravenhurst up to Cochrane-Hornepayne-Sault Ste Marie and I looked up at the sign stating it was 400kms to ThnderBay (by road that is ) lol we booked in ay SSM I called work and asked if I could get 4 more days off and was turned down. So we rode back to Gravenhurst. Back then we had to get trailered across the pickerell river and french river. 2-was invited to ride on Maine and said maybe next year. Well I am still waiting for next year.

I have watched several vids by Muskoka Freerider lately. He rides out of Revy. After being on Snowest for many years - mostly back in the 20'naughts, I only knew Revy as "Turbo Hill" and such. Everything that I ever seen of the place - be it folks' pics, or many VCR tapes filmed in the area - were all shooting big hills and chute's with turbo machines. Personally, I really don't have much use for the big and wide open. But watching his vids, I have yet to see him out on the big pulls, and they are typically in the trees. One that I just watched from last year ( or 2?) was them heading down a drainage that they'd never been down before. That was a very cool ride! That's much more my kind'a riding! (exploring) So, "Revy" has changed in my mind a lot recently. .

I've also watched some of his new videos, did you see the one where is buddy is at the bottom of a 20ft hole\with cold water and it takes the 3 of them almost all day to get him out.. I'm way too old and broken for that stuff. When i lived in Alberta, a friend would go to the mountains to ride, then one year all 5 of them got down into a bowl, which required a helicopter lift out, at $700\pop (20+ years ago price). I'm good with the boring Ontario north trails, or Gaspse. I'd do New Brunswick again, without the rain this time. Cheers az..
oldslowsledder
Never much for trailering, but ended up being spoiled riding from home. Always had snow, good trails and I missed so many opportunities thinking "I'll do it later'. But as the years pass these opportunities no longer exist.
crispy
I always wanted to make the run from Cochrane to Moossonee. I tried a few times to line it up but for one reason or another it never came together. I wouldn't risk it now Im too old to want that kind of pain or potential trouble.

I ride with fella's that stay mobile and fit. (I am amazed really!) I'm pretty fit, but I am not the rider that I was 20 yrs ago - mostly from less time riding the last 15 yrs. Hoping to git more time to ride at some point here. If we can git "available time" and snow conditions to line up.... Two of my guy's rode a cpl days this last week - offtrail in "marginal" conditions, even worse - with a sugar base - and one came home with a busted up hood as he got tossed into a tree. We like to see 40" on the snowtell, but they were riding at 29". He's now 84 (I think) and I can sorta keep up with him now-days. He would hit that drainage! Actually - I just seen the vid where his chum ended up in the crick bottom just in the last 24 hrs! (today or last night? IDK) It really did look like all they had to doo was shovel the crick full and ride it out - which is what they did. He thought that it was gunna be a bigger job than it turned out to be. But yeah - at first - when the machine is 10' down in a hole - that doesn't register well on first glance. But it was pointed down hill already, so that was helpfull, AND only the rear end was wet. It could have been much worse. Chums machine: .

(exploring) So, "Revy" has changed in my mind a lot recently. I have not ridden Revy, however I have ridden out of Golden BC about 25 days over the last few years..so I am kind of biased. Very small town feel and easy to get to know locals by name. I have been made to feel welcome in the community with the people I’ve gotten to know. Closer to Calgary airport than Revy and I don’t think near the crowds on peak days. I believe there is less avalanche risk at Revy than at Golden, which can be a factor but has not been an issue for me…yet. The drainage’s are the summer streams that drain the upper bowls, most times that is the only way into the untouched powder of the bowls above the tree line. Climbing the drainage through the trees can be incredibly technical and slow going, lots of times multiple tries to get a few hundred feet. Later in winter they are usually well travelled and much easier to navigate. I prefer March as it’s much warmer, day after day of sunny skies and the snow is more stable and predictable for an old timer like me. It is an experience that I would recommend you do if given the chance..it’s incredible and unlike anything else.. Aaron and his staff at Golden Snowmobile Rentals (GSR) have new sleds, they are Polaris dealer, and guides that are awesome and very knowledgeable. I have not had a bad experience with them yet..would definitely recommend.. Ox you have a distinct advantage with the exchange rate on US $, doo it! You will not regret it
Ox
We run a cpl of secret drainage's in Colorado. But Chris Burandt has started poaching in/near our secret spot a little with his guide service the last few years. I fully expect to make BC one day. Most likely on my own sled, but who knows? I've been finding new routes through the bush in Algoma since the 90's. Pic from 10 klicks off trail in Algoma - we call it "Top of Ontario Hill". .
J Feces
I was talking to a buddy about that area recently. Ride out of Karl’s at Searchmont and head for Wawa (with fuel of course) or come from east and drop in Chapleau and ride west. I could spend several days just exploring in that area. Would also like to go back to Dubreiville, have been twice but a lifetime of trails and area to explore out of there.

500ssman
No regrets and no missed opportunities that I can think of. I had a blast especially from 2005 to 2010 with the bunch that I hung out with in the Angus and Alliston area. We all rode Ski Doos with the 500ss motor. Fun times for sure. Doubtful that I will ever climb on one again but that's fine.
