Puggz Posted December 4, 2024 Posted December 4, 2024 If the weather holds and conditions allow, we're considering a trip to the Algoma region between Christmas and new years. Any accommodation recs? I'll be with the Mrs. so it has to be decent..lol. Not much on Airbnb to be honest. We've never been to the area so I'm really looking forward to it! TIA<, P Quote
skidooboy Posted December 4, 2024 Posted December 4, 2024 Best bet for the Mrs, is the Soo. You may have to trailer daily to ride, and then understand it is still early, they may not have much open for trails, so you may be landlocked, or exploring on your own. There will be lots of bush road bombing but, understand, christmas eve, christmas, boxing day, new years eve and day, there isnt much open, plan accordingly for food, and beverages. Hoping you have a great time, it is a great area. Ski Quote
Dan-Senior Posted December 4, 2024 Posted December 4, 2024 Sault Ste. Marie - Accommodations & Food The FairField Inn is popular and the trail goes right to the door. Both you and Mrs. will enjoy because Chuck's Roadhouse is right next door and the LCBO is right across the street and Walmart is around the corner. Giovanni's and Fratelli's are right there as well. Chucks is a local favourite by many, for apps and burgers and so forth. You may want to skip the higher end stuff unless you hit one of the other Italian restaurants close by. The only setback might be if the trails have yet to open by then, you will need to trailer. With all the snow we have, hopefully they will be open before then. 2 Quote

Is snow good over towards Bruce mines and Elliot lake area or is it mostly north of soo this year? Quote
