It's a permit wrap. It goes on before the permit, the concept makes it easier to remove the permit later.

Yes I read those were great. Some people were using it to transfer permit from one sled  to another. Pull wrap portion off sled permit comes off in tact, then they use a new backing sticker and Vala it's on a different sled. Can't really tell it's there either, if you do it properly.

I think you use them, or maybe its Nutter that does - do they work as advertised?

Added bonus is they add a bit more flavour to the sled!

I do not think that was the intended purpose.....

Are these backing stickers going to remain legal or are cops going to start demanding they are removed and put right on sled. I like concept of it being easy to remove just some people are buying several of these and moving permit from one sled to another. I guess they could ask for paper work if they stop you and see you with one of these backing stickers?

Other than transferring to another sled mid season - what is the point?

I peel mine off every year and clean the area and you'd never know anything was stuck to the sled

Exactly.  Sharp exacto knife, and some GooGone, and never know it was there.  If there is a slight scratch, or residue,  it will be covered by the permit next year again anyways.

I just peel mine off use a heat gun heat glue back up new sticker sticks real good. I never bother cleaning it. One time they changed shape and it size of sticker years ago from rectangles shape they orginal used. It looked like crap with old glue on sides 🤣

The ones I designed and had printed up for our club back in the mid 00s were just a frame sticker around the permit. The reason I designed it that way was so it couldn't be misused, knowing some people would transfer them sled to sled and although likely small, it would still have the potential to take away funds from the trail system.  We sold a ton of them for about 6 years. After that Doodette made up some for Kelly Shires and PET, they did well too (just noticed my profile pic is still of my 13 600 and rocking a PET permit wrap lol). They also were just a frame sticker that went around the permit.

All could easily find was this prototype of the first one (note the permit size and shape, I think that was around 06-07 ? lol )  The final production ones had much more stout outer border.  They were made so well that you could easily salvage the wrap when taking the permit off and putting the new one on, we had to change designs to make people want to buy the latest greatest lol

Same for the license sticker - I try to remove the old before applying the new one in the same spot.

I find WD40 has worked better for me though - spray a rag, let it sit on sticker and then remove residue.

The whole idea of using one of these to transfer a permit, I get it, people will always make poor choices, you cannot stop stupid.....I would like to think the number of people that sled and would consider this, are just a "fringe minority".....lol.

People like to dress their sled up, add something different, support a certain cause i.e. business, charity, club.....

Look at those that wrap a sled, some are quite extensive & some are quite small - Or you have POO who has given the rider so many choices to customize your sled from the factory with all the colour options, just to be more personalized.

Some are into it and some are not - good to have options.

And we thank you for keeping the wheels greased as they slowly move during these challenging times!

Those were the O.G permit wraps, they flew off the shelf at one of PPSC's open houses. Optically this is how a club should.make them, so the permit voids.

Ok I get it, thanks everyone. I wish they would have sent both sized tho.  How do they know what size I need? Many of us in ON only buy PQ passes. Regardless, nice idea if it works.
