I've heard that is "illegal", but what a great area and terrain for riding. Looked like fun to me. I think they changed things a bit there too and you used to cross the highway to grab gas at I think it’s the ultramar, but can’t anymore or maybe not as easy too. Can’t imagine why crossing a highway might be a bad idea…lol. Used to also see many sleds cross 11 in Orillia too. Quote

The trail does not cross there, you go under the highway a little further north. The area in between for general off trail riding is great terrain though. that might be the future if the trails struggle - just buy a crossover and ride wherever Quote

We have NO ice - so at least if it gets cold, we'll have a chance to make some of that Quote

95rxl650 Posted December 13, 2024 Posted December 13, 2024 It seems the storms are over around here. Owen Sound has about 10" on the ground. Just in time for another 3 day warm front. Looks decent up till the end of the 14 day forecast but no deep freeze conditions. We need some of that Manitoba air to find it's way into Ontario. Quote

It compact it make it bulliet proof and it stay rest of season. Hopefully we get some cold temps in near future to help with swamps and water ways. Even Cochrane struggling with rivers, and low areas still. Quote

95rxl650 Posted December 17, 2024 Posted December 17, 2024 Hate to say it, but things are looking pretty sad for southern and alot of central Ontario. A few cold days coming up and back to plus temps and rain through the holidays and into the new year. Hope it's not a repeat of last year. Boats were on the Bay here in Owen Sound all winter. 1 Quote

It was plus 9 after a day of monsoon rain here at 11:30 last night. Could not have felt less like winter. Quote
95rxl650 Posted December 17, 2024 Posted December 17, 2024 At home looking out the windows I see bare ground anywhere there wasnt snow piled. I'm headed up the peninsula shortly so I'll see what any trails look like that cross the roads. As far as I know, there were trails that never seen a groomer yet Quote

I was just thinking the same thing. Other than that little pocket of snow around Walkerton to get guys excited there really hasn’t been any amount of snow and it’s above zero every day between Christmas and NYE in Southern Ontario. Talking to guys in Quebec and they are saying they are still a long way from any trails opening as well. Gaspe area has grass showing in several areas. Quote
