Spiderman Posted December 4, 2024 Posted December 4, 2024 Might try to ride Sunday. Need a few things timing wise to fall into place, but would be nice to get out for a little shakedown. Quote
04nightfire Posted December 4, 2024 Posted December 4, 2024 I'm not liking the looks of early next week weather wise Quote
2strokemerc Posted December 4, 2024 Posted December 4, 2024 I'm seeing yellow near Owen Sound. And yes, looks like rain possible early next week. Quote

The only public access feeder is closed. Not that it seems to matter. It's gutted already. The first 1/2 mile of the trail is along side the walking/bicycle trail. Manicured lawn the city is getting tired of fixing. There are 2 other trails leaving Owen Sound but access has been cut off. Not what I would call a sled friendly town. I cant count how many times we had visits from the local PD after rolling into town for a night cap in a buddies shop. City bylaw has most area's locked down. Quote

It might help pack things down and give a nice hard base to have some staying power. Only looks like 2 to 4 C in most areas early next week. What's more concerning is lack of cold air. This minus 1 or so during the day and minus 6 at night will never get us any ice in a reasonable amount of time. Be nice to get a real cold snap after warm spell to tighten everything up. 🙏 Quote
95rxl650 Posted December 6, 2024 Posted December 6, 2024 Around D9 we have the same weather pattern next weekend also. Next 2 weeks are marginal at best. Trespassers are already leaving their mark. Quote

My nephew had 300 pigs in his barn when the roof collapsed earlier this week. 4 Quote

My shed when I put solar on roof they made me beef up trusses so much, I could drive gravel trucks on it now. At time I thought it was over kill, since snow mostly slides off panels and onto ground. Doesn't hang up like before 🤷🏽♂️. Made up bring it up to new building code for snow load and then weight of solar. I think I spent clos to 25k just beefing roof and trusses up to spec. Then engineer come and inspect it and wants more bracing 🤣. Quote

I'm sneaking out before anyone makes plans for my day. I see they opened up a small loop outside of town. Beats the mind numbing railbed I suppose. Wonder if my carbides are still straight when I get back. lol 4 1 Quote
stoney Posted December 7, 2024 Posted December 7, 2024 Okay, so when was the last time there were Yellow trails this early in Dec? Kudos to the clubs that were able to do that, even if it is a railbed. 5 Quote
