That moisture laden air rises to a higher altitude and then drops the moisture as snow. In the Goderich area for example that used to has mean 10 miles inland and beyond gets good snow . Yes and near lake can be rain sometimes too from warmer water. Hopefully we can get some good lake affect this year. It seems to fizzle out just south of highway 86, lately. I'm in a "No snow Zone" Sounds like OS. My wife always says we live under the dome. Some seasons we've trailered 30 minutes to Meaford and 3 feet of snow. We could still see the grass in Owen Sound. Dan-Senior
Things are getting ugly here in Sault Ste. Marie. I suspect some businesses will be shut down tomorrow (Friday). By Sunday, we will be measuring snow in feet not inches. UPDATE: Sault Ste. stoney
This random early LAS machine surely feels more like a normal winter, and perhaps a warm up of the winter we all hope to come. The long range actually does look decent too without a warming trend yet shown. Maybe this will help with motivation to sell some sleds, sled products, finalize any land use agreements still lingering, etc….
