I was with Allstate for years, but finally decided to move on.

thanks guys!

My sled is still with TD.

Renewal is Dec 1, will see.

i moved everything else to CAA, being a 25+ year member got me a massive discount.

We use Desjardin for all insurance, been with agent decades. Bought new to me 2023 Renegade X Turbo R last year, if memory serves me correct it was between 500-600 for the year including collision.

TD has the best rate for my 3 sleds

Moved my home/3 cars/camper/sled trailer and SxS from Intact to CAA. Saved $2800. The sleds stay at TD as nobody can come close

CAA is slowly creeping up their car rates.

My wifes 23 Toyota Highlander went up $500 this year and my 24 F150 was $400 more than my 22 was.    No tickets.    No claims.   Just higher premiums.

My sleds are with Desjardins.    TD was $70 cheaper per sled but its worth that to me to speak to the same rep every time I call vs a call centre in Bangladesh.   I dont renew until Jan but the agent told me that my rates will be the same as this year.

I review everything every year.

We are year 2 with CAA as of September and house and cars actually went down just a tiny bit from the 1st year.

Toyota Highlanders are getting hit from everyone because they are a high theft risk so I wasnt surprised by that but the F150 p-ssed me off as I went to a 24 XLT from a 22 Lariat and the rates still went up.

My agent agreed that CAA is slowly creeping rates up.    They were still quite a bit cheaper than Intact though.

I've been with TD for over 20 years. House and sleds.

When I bought my 2020 Renegade The Co-Operators, with whom I have house and car, were within $50 of TD so I moved everything over.

Highlander went up 500 because it's  on hit  list for being stolen often. Anything on that list went up 500 bucks regardless of what insurance company you use.  Our crv went up 500 bucks too and we have economical for same reason. 😡

TD is the last place I would have my house with.

Sled is all they will get.

I've had the same woman taking care of me forever it seems. My original company got swallowed up by Intact years ago but I still walk in with my paperwork and walk out with new slips from the same woman. She's like an old family friend that's nice to catch up with. She inquires about my wife and kids by name and asks about the grand children.

She's either the sweetest woman I know or the savviest. lol

Not sure of the numbers each year. Our renewal is in May and I think it cost me about $250 out of pocket after cancelling the policy at the end of February.

I believe in a previous discussion it was said that this practice was wrong?? I never followed up with an inquiry because I dont want to rock the boat and end up paying more. lol

Got my td insurance renewal for snowmobile.
hasn't changed much from last year maybe a few bucks a month it seems.
I what I did notice there is no longer a max insured value like before . They just put list price new in insured value column. Has anyone been able to change this to say 10k or whatever they think snowmobile worth or is this game gone and they are just making it like an auto policy and  based it all off list price new value?
Thanks everyone.
Also if anyone looking for auto insurance this broker in St Catherine's is very good rates. Nobody can touch them it seems. Have all my automobiles there and they usually get me economical or gore insurance. They always answer phone or emails and call back quickly un like td.
They can be reached at 188-685-2376 for a quote.
Known as aeroridge insurance brokers.
I highly recommend them for vehicles, especially new drivers too.
My farm truck just slightly over 700 a year there full coverage 😎

Your sled policy is and always has been an auto policy. Only one that exists in Ontario.

Auto policies pay out on Actual Cash Value on the date/time of the loss unless you have a 43R and the vehicle qualifies for the 43R.

The value they list on it is for rating purposes and has nothing to do with a "max" payout or anything like that.

They wanted 12000 a year for my new place.

They are out of touch

And in-case you haven't seen the news, TD ( banking side ) has been taking it on the chin quite a bit lately.

Expect rates to increase!

Banking and insurance even though it's same parent company are seperate unities within same company.  So banking side shouldn't affect auto sides rates. It be re could within its own market segment.

found a local broker who has turned out to be quite good, TD couldn't believe that we were over 18km from a fire hydrant................I was stunned.

I had td house insurance years ago. Final straw was over basement endorsements flood coverage for water heaters, sump pumps, sweet back up etc. I even had back up valves installed too.. They tried to limit me to 10 k and  never had a claim. When I complained they told me they could put it back to previous coverage. So I took it and next year I moved it to a broker and guess what it was back to 10k coverage again 🤣

Thanks for all the replies, I’ve got a couple quotes from both Dejardins & co-operators.

both are comparable for full coverage.

I’ve been riding with just liability for years, but considering full coverage this year.

I have always told myself why run collision when I never put it thru insurance if I hit something. These new sleds are real easy to bend up too. Reality is they raise insurance so high you pay for it anyways. I have full coverage now and put a high deductible.  It keeps coverage reasonable. Once police are called to an accident might as well put it thru insurance is going up anyways and I don't want to fight with company or other party to get my sled fixed. They are really expensive now.

I'm not planning for an insurance claim anytime soon. I switched 15 years ago because they were half the price of what I was paying (Pilot or Aviva?). I still don't pay what I was paying the other company because TD lowered my rates by 15% last year and sent me a rebate. How could I switch?

Hopefully you never do.  Been through the claim process with TD once.  Will never deal with them again.  I agree house insurance is awfully important when you need it.
