Same as a 79cc Power Fist motor from Princess Auto. Olsen Brothers has a website with all the parts to do the swap. Engine mount plate, gearing and clutch. You have to make your own exhaust. Help can be had on Facebook (Kitty Cat Snowmobiles group). There are guys out there reproducing the obsolete parts. Hoods, windshields, tracks, etc. Pretty tough to find a decent running/looking Kitty for under $2k. Virtually every kitty has a bent front bumper, missing windshield and a cracked hood.....lol. Nice stuff goes for $2500-$3k. I've seen some listed for $4500-6000 for museum pieces. Take a trip to the US and you'll find nice units for $1500. Wisconsin, Minnesota, Selection seems thin here. Made the decision to go 4 stroke. I ordered the swap kit from Olsen Brothers last week and got notice it should be here by Monday. Total price with shipping was $328 US. I expect there will be some HST/Brokerage fees to pay when it gets here. (and of course, I will be in Florida, 😒, see what I can do about that). A 79cc Powerfist motor is $199 at Princess Auto. I will post how it goes. I've been trying to buy another without paying stupid money but its tough. I've seen 3 decent Kitty's sell for under $2k in the last month. I messaged all 3. One guy wanted a $500 deposit from me before he'd schedule a viewing ($1500 and it didn't run), another I offered to pay his ask sight unseen. He returned my message after 12 hours saying he had lots of offers. I assume he sold it for more. And the last never messaged me back. The ones asking $3k seem to sit on Marketplace for weeks before they sell. 1 Quote

He says did you check the compression or someone else? It was the guys who put the blades on backwards on the lawnmower. Doh. so I did a compression test it’s around 125. She’s mint. oldslowsledder Posted January 29, 2025 Posted January 29, 2025 Just thought I'd throw this one in here for anyone who has a 'performance kit' in their '120'. They use an aluminum driven gear and a thinner chain, work great but ours ended up with a thrown chain and destroyed gear. My bad for not keeping a closer eye on it, has an automatic chain tensioner but the internet wizards are saying the factory tensioning spring is too light. Not difficult to repair, but waiting for parts is breaking my Grandsons heart lol! Quote

I'm sure that had something to do with failure. This time I've got a clutch coming as well, should help with that issue. They do sell an upgraded tensioner that may help improve the life of the gear and chain. Keep us posted if the new clutch helps with the low end bog and improvement with the rear shock kit. Quote

This is year 2 for the kit, and in fairness it has a ton of hours on it. Grandson lives down the road so he sleds home (with dad of course) so I didn't have it here to keep an eye on things. Quite possible it's something that could have been avoided, live and learn. Quote

This is a pic from 2021, little guy on the 340 that's waiting for him. Son got it with purchase of cottage, it is as close to mint as you can find. 2 Quote
