Sled prices falling large ?

You could get them at Canadian Tire along with replacement ski legs. Ski legs would bend after a while, I think they were about $12 bucks. I had them on my first sled 72 Olympic.  I love the custom aluminum ones!

In my opinion, if your living pay check to pay check then toys arent on the menu. I considered financing a work vehicle at one time just because it made my money. The thoughts of giving perfectly good and hard earned money away never sit right with me. 

I guess I just never made enough to feel comfortable setting fire to it. lol

We also pay cash, unless the rate is 0% and cash will not get a better price. Last pick up we bought they had that employee pricing but the rate was rude so we paid cash. I will say, removing that much cash from our savings was a pleasant feeling. Friggen trucks are way way too much money. But gotta pay to play. In my opinion it is not so much about how big the income is as it is in how you manage your finances. We live on half our net income, the rest gets saved. I was going to retire last year but the way the world is, I feel I need more behind me to do so now. Thank you liberals.

Same boat. I think I'll be "semi retired" till I die with the way things are after so many years of the liberals. 

I scaled back from what I wanted to what was practical when it comes to toys. If a dodge caravan wont haul it, I dont need it. I had to keep a truck just to haul toys at one time. It never had any other purpose. Cost of re[placement got out of hand.

I sure do miss a truck every time I have to drag around a utility trailer for simple tasks, but I make it work. If I needed a good truck to earn an income then, as you said, you gotta pay to play. That kind of hit to savings these days would make me panic. lol 

20 years ago I didnt worry about the kids and grandkids. I feel I have to now. The changes Canada has gone through either happened over night or I wasnt paying attention. Either way, retirement is off the table for the foreseeable future. Kinda pisses me off.....ok...pisses me off ALOT.

Ya, north of 1.5 mill tied up on sleds sitting in crates......I am sure not financed, at least I hope not.

Wonder how the discount is given to the dealer when the manufacture offer rebates, assuming they are on 2024 non currents - merch or $$....guessing merch that may sit on the shelfs too....

LOL - better spend, spend, spend than.....and motivate this economy and industry

I should be good - new carbides last year on my old Curve skis and belt the season before - and I barely rode last year due to my body letting me down.....

A new POO sled comes with new belt and carbides - just some food for thought....

Yeah, son's hockey schedule still makes zero sense in buying new for this season. I would be buying it to have it collect dust. I'm fine with letting my antiquated Cat do that for now and leaving my cash going to work.

I feel good now, so should be good - and as long as a little kid does not take me out again from behind at the knees on the ice and I go ass over tea kettle on my back and head followed by some nice crunching noises, I should be okay!

 

I have the same issue, hockey takes up a big portion of fall, winter and spring.....but I will still get out hopefully through the week with or without each of my kids and manage one trip in Feb, maybe another extended weekend while my wife takes care the kids schedule.

I really do not like missing the kiddos stuff, especially hockey, but I do not miss much, so that is good.

Understandable about the to buy or not buy dilemma.....good thing, if you want to call it that, I cannot see the prices bloating again anytime soon.

If you want to do rap I am game. I got 1100 kms last winter going for 2000 this year and less hours on snowblower  hopefully. Some days last year I was out whole day blowing trucks in and out and wife etc. It never stopped snowing and blowing some days. I put on close to 125 hours on snow removal alone and only did my own place about 1 km of drive way some is 45 plus feet wide. I did help a neighbour a few times and I didn't bill him and he never offered me anything. I helped an India driver out of ditch too. No charge. That was my good deads for year 👌

hoping for some early snow at Christmas, after that, maybe family day weekend, and then fingers crossed, playoffs finish early and good snow up north. That will likely be it.

 

only other time looks like possibly when we go to Varney in January, if snow is there, might grab the sleds amd ride after his game.

I normally ride a different used sled every year but havent had time to even get the yard ready for snow. Most years I wrap up work by Christmas but I'm buried in it this year. I cant say my feeling are too hurt with all the bs going on with cuts. Looks like I'll just toy with my ol' beater for the season and see what comes out in the wash. Not sure I can even find an ownership for it. lol
