I am not a big fan of left overs for this reason especially 2023 at moment.

I am not a big fan of left overs for this reason especially 2023 at moment. that makes sense if you trade that often to not buy a left-over If you're looking to keep it 3-5 years - some great deals on left-overs out there The biggest thing for me is on the left-overs - how much has really changed - and are those changes worth the extra 3-5k? ( doubtful ) the sled has already taken the depreciation anyway - and thats on the manu - not me - so also a win
scottyr
Used sleds are still in a free fall from the looks of things. They certainly arent ticking up in value as November approaches.

Not entirely weather based for sleds, its economy , people are bleeding cash it seems, so trying to move things.

You hear that often, I think levels are just lower than ever before with the added users, but still not on the verge of closing - plus there seem to be more options for people to use as well than before since people are stepping up to help using other platforms. 5 minutes ago, 95rxl650 said: I know a few pensioners that have had to change their habits drastically. This is why part of me agrees with the bloc to increase the amounts for seniors - there are plenty that do just fine that have pensions, investments, etc....., but plenty that are not and need some added help. The number the bloc recently shared was 4 million Canadian seniors, 1 million in QC, so at least the same in ON, leaving the other 2 million spread across the remaining provinces/territories. But that would be a very large dollar figure to put out.

I was in Dollar Tree on Saturday, the lady being trained on the cash had to be 80+ - my wife actually said to me that she hoped she was there for something to do, and not because she needed to be there. I said let's hope that is never either of one of us. 1

crispy
I have a childhood friend, grew up middle class and worked in the trade til he retired early, no wife, no kids. He bought a condo in the 90's. Sold it to bail out his brother when he lost his business in the financial collapse ( brother has kids and is older ) this friend of mine is now flat broke and proud, and living in a shipping container. I dont know where yet, because I would stuff him in the basement but wow. Tough times for some indeed Funny how all those fresh Canadians are so well funded and housed though eh? 1

For me, any one that I know that has retired still doing work and I have talked to them about it, they say they are doing it for the people aspect and keeping busy.....would they say it was because they needed the money, not sure. My dad when he retired within a few years picked up a part time job at a local rental shop doing small repairs, maintenance, sales, etc....for him it was just that, get out and see people, keep busy, etc..... But I have no doubt there are some that need to do it to get by as well.

She told Me she has to pay for her granddaughter and her son. I asked her how old her grand daughter was and she said 36 🤣. I just grabbed my coffee and left. Un believable this next generation. Soon be no one to make coffee for us 🤣🤣🤣. Everything half azzz backwards now.

Common theme was sleds have become way too expensive, given the short season, coupled with inflation, interest rates, less disposable income etc. New sled prices have eclipsed what is actually sane. Only those who have more money than they know what to do with are buying. Anyone who lives modest with a budget in mind is not. It doesn’t make any fiscal sense.
stoney
Same news in the automotive world too. cutting productions, models, staff, etc…. Not just sled or weather related. I see this as prudent as a business, but still sucks. Should see another half percent cut from prime early Dec….
