Well, my '96/97 map showed the D trail from Searchmont to Wawa as 150 "miles" long.

We were planning on gassing up in one of the stashes in the bush,. and I had a 6'er on board as well, but we were pushing 18" of fresh.

Ass_u_ming that the gas was somewhere near the 75/100 mile mark - we were confident in our ability to navigate.

When my 6'er was gone at 120 miles, and we still hadn't found the petro, crossed a rail line, or whatever else that the map showed, we realized that the trail was NOT 150 miles long.

Cool! I had piles of these and dont know where they are but if I find em, i'll post em.  From what I remember Snow 1 was awesome back in the 80's and seemed to set the bar for what OFSC trails were to become. I never rode Quebec back then so? But in Ontario that trail was amazing. Blew a few engines running it 😱

Saw an old map when my buddy was having auction sale for his dad. They were gonna toss it with other stuff. Got it laminated and on the beer fridge. It's the Hill and Gully map as well. Lol. Lots of memories from up there.

Nice!!!

Look at all the dealers that are long gone now.

Gord's, Wheeler, Toko, Central Ontario. Martin's, Massel's and K-W Honda are still in business but haven't dealt with sleds in years.

Thanks for posting this map Sledguy74. It brings back lots of great memories.

The Waterloo Sno-Plan was started by a few dedicated sledder's from our local area clubs. I'm pretty sure that this was the first attempt at Central Grooming in Southern Ontario.

The Waterloo Snow Plan was part of The Golden Triangle Snowmobile Association which if memory serves at one time consisted of 13 clubs between Guelph and Stratford areas.

The Algoma Snow Plan was first and then the Sudbury Trail followed as the first 2 Central grooming Associations in Ontario I believe.
