There's a rumour going around that there's a possibility that a new forum will be creates with all the old messages, just for you to view. Not sure if it can be done but it's being worked on.

PS: If you can, please tell MikeD that we miss him on forum and come back and say hello.

And that is incredible i hope it works😁 I will pass on to MikeD right now😂

Any explanation as to why the deer just stood there?

Brian and I burned by him just before the hwy crossing and saw it smoking and noticed glowing red pipe showing through lol He stopped after crossing the hwy and  there was no snow around to toss on to cool it down. He ran down onto the lake and started putting the snow to it lol

I remember watching you bouncing about a foot off the seat and not letting up till your Dad finally stopped you, I also remember watching your Dad shake his head when took off on his sled and stayed pace with the group rather than with him lmao

Just to place a helpfull post in this thread - after eyeballing all your pics:

Since I see that you have had the moniker "Killswitch" for over a decade now, I can only guess as to the reason for the name.

Helpfull hint:

A rubber band under the kill switch solves unwanted killings.

You can still kill it if you hold the button down, but if you happened to just bump it - it will just spit for a second and then continue.

Unfortunately - a rubber band only seems to last one season these days.

The quality of rubber bands has seemed to deteriorate over the years.

I got the name because I use to fall asleep riding with my dad and my head would hit the killswitch. We where all on a big ride together and I was a asleep and hit the killswitch just as my dad was crossing the highway with a snowplow coming😅been killswitch ever since

Well, don't feel too bad. There was one night when we were riding in the UP in the mid 90's and it was really late, and I'm sure that we were running on little sleep, and we just couldn't make it back to town. Started nodding off while riding through the trees wasn't a good plan, so we actually stopped for a bit to get a wink or two. (we were close to town)

LOL - my son was doing the same thing last year on my sled after he started to fall asleep on the 1+1 seat so he moved to in front of me. At first when it happened, I did not know what happened, figured sled was dead.

My last sled kill switch was a toggle type (CAT) vs. push button, so it never happened.

Great pics, Nutter and Killswitch. A trip down memory lane. I'll never forget Doonut's love of 'off trail' riding. "Why stay on a groomed trail when that swamp leads to a path and a backwoods lake. Look, a hill, followed by another hill, a valley and three more snow covered hills (Muskoka). Darn, your stuck. Here's a shovel.... ".

Thanks for posting, Nutter.

  • LuvMyViper changed the title to Missing Doonut posts

Just seeing those pics is friendly nudge/reminder of what it's all about.

Sarah,

I have been able to recover your Dad's posts in text format.   I found an old database backup.  I'll finish cleaning it up and then I'll find a way to get it to you.
