Today's the 1st good day of snow for the highway 129 Corridor heading to Chapleau.  I wrote a report and am attaching it here.  It looks to be about 3 days of snow, then a meltdown.

I'm counting on it being gone by Sat morning.

There's 3" on the ground near Halfway.

And Chap is calling for 3-5" yet.

Well, I'm putt'n on the winter treads, so we should be OK either way.

Also, cooler as you go east.

Wawa and Soo's only calling for rain.

It looks like Wawa got an inch'r two.

A cpl plows went up 17 as I posted this, so there must be something out there.

Doesn't look like much tho.

Windy.com says Chapleau got 20.6 centimetres (about 8"). Shows a max of 6.3 cm. ( 21/2") half way between Wawa and the Montreal River on 17.

Black Creek Outfitters

Cathy and Shane were out for a sled run last night and are reporting plenty of snow for adventurous wilderness riders.  She said she may snap some photos today.

Aubrey Falls Trading Post

I was in conversation with Randy a few days ago and we'll get a clearer picture tomorrow about what his plans are for the winter at Aubrey Falls Trading Post.

Chad and I are trailering to Black Creek / Aubrey Falls tomorrow for a day of exploratory wilderness riding.

Aubrey Falls Trading Post

We stopped in to meet the new owners of the Aubrey Falls Trading Post.  Glad to see the lights are back on, offering another destination for riders.

Do they have fuel?

No fuel at Aubrey Falls Trading Post, however, fuel is available at Black Creek Outfitters, 1 mile south, along the the trail.

no, they are not on the trail any longer. when they eliminated the F trail, they eliminated the access to flame lake. sad, for Karen, Gary, and Maureen. that was a favorite trail stop, and overnight place for us. Ski
