The wolf loop is very good, moose loop is good as well.

Where are you staging out of

Staying with family in the south end of Sudbury,

On Thursday was going to do the wolf loop and stage from STP yard.

Then on Friday was going to stage from capreol and do the Moose.

Just wanted to confirm the base was coming along. Heard the south end, was pretty sparse.

You are correct on the south end.

Better off to do the moose loop Thursday and wolf Friday.

Majority of moose loop is done Wednesday and wolf on Thursday.

Thanks for your help Soup.

Given the amount of snow the trails were pretty good. I would recommend to stay north of Capreol to anyone going unless another 8-12" shows up.

Started from Garson on the first half day - going north from there, lots of rocks tilled up in the base until north of the rail line. Once past there  trails were good. The portages in the Wolf loop were pretty beat up but expected with such a low base.

Wanapitei was fun to cross - lots of pressure cracks and high winds have left big ribs across the lake.

Always enjoy the trails up there. Hope to be back.

Having completed a few days in the area, I agree with Sevey.

Capreol (north) is the cutoff for great sledding.

You can do both loops, but the further north you get, the more enjoyable it is.

We're heading up in the morning and wondering where to stage from to do the moose loop(clockwise) and possibly the wolf loop if we have time. Some grooming info would be great too. Staying at the Moonlight monday night.

Usually when we go up to suds we stage from the STP lot and go from there. Actually we are going up Wednesday morning and may leave our rig there for our saddle bag trip or trailer up a little further depending on trail conditions. Let us know what the trails are like when you get a chance.

Might want to check the weather. Going to be 9 Thursday after 5deg on Wednesday. Wouldn't go too far from the trailer

It was icy in some corners closer to town. North of town was pretty darn good. We did a quick run up to the wolf look out this morning, from the moonlight inn. As of today, the road stretch in Garson was ok. I was fine without scratchers both days. The tower at the look out, is that a CB tower or shortwave radio?
