Della Pieta Restaurant in Moonbeam

Well our NCDN go to spot in Moonbeam is officially closing its doors this September.  We are going to miss this little Gem big time. Great food, and great Memories made in that place the last few seasons.  Some of you OC members have enjoyed good times and good food in there with me and @Mrs Turbo Doo more then a few times. Sad to see it close its doors. Some pictures to share from the parking lot...

Yup no one wants to work with government hand outs. Restaurants around here are short too. Seems everyone is struggling to find workers.

Food prices are high too now as well. Without some kind of liquor sales hard to make ends meet now. Too bad looks like an awesome spot.

That really sucks, we found out about it from TD and have eaten there a few times, Sign of the times unfortunately.

Nooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!

What a disappointment, we loved that spot and so convenient with gas there too.  Now it's back to that $h!t-show thru Kap again.

Papa Francos in Kap was excellent last March. Very very welcoming to sledders too. One of SledJunks favorites..

Another good one gone.  Guess its Kap for food now. I don't see the Moonbeam Clubhouse opening either.

Pretty sure you won't be in Kap often TD since there will likely be less traffic on L123.

If the clubhouse is closed, we usually have a late breakfast at Smoothies and get a snack when gassing in the afternoon when we're heading west. Heading east we take on a fried bologna breakfast at the Companion so no one feels like eating lunch anyway LOL

Absolutely!  We enjoyed it last March too.  A little off the trail (L123) if you're touring thru, and a pretty big lunch too.  But definitely better than grinding thru town.

Thru Kaps not all too bad, until March riding anyways. We tend to bypass Kap, but sometimes pop back up on the other side of town coming up from the L123.  Depends who's leading..

Last year when we stayed at the Advantage in Kap we did a morning ride and met up with Denis and Mel and ordered pizza when we were about half an hour away from Kap delivered to the motel had a nice lunch break in the rooms and then went out for an afternoon ride and Papa Franco's for dinner, Worked out perfectly and we will likely do the same thing this coming winter again. Breakfast is easy, toasted bagels or one of the guys takes a run to McDonalds and coffee.

A lot of restaurants are closing due to shortage of workers.   My buddy owns 5 restaurants and had to close the slowest one temporarily and move the staff to the busier places as he couldnt get enough workers to cover all 5 locations.    He just reopened the smallest one this week but he said all thoughts of expanding further are on hold because of the lack of people who want to work.

When we are up north we generally have a big breakfast and dont worry about stopping for lunch anywhere.   We pack a few snacks and stop at a warm up shack in the afternoon instead of scratching into a town like Kap for lunch.

Is there talk of the Moonbeam Clubhouse not opening this season?   I really missed it this year.   It was pretty handy to grab a bowl of soup or something small when driving by.

@Mrs Turbo Doo and Myself ran into a few of the volunteer ladies from the clubhouse at Della Pieta one day for lunch, and they recognized us, and we asked the question. Pending covid and finding more volunteers will be the deciding factor for this coming season from what the one lady told us
