Headed that way tomorrow.

260 klicks today ride in falling snow from Mattie to Kap. Late start as rest' didn't open until 9. Trails not overly busy.

We ended up doing the Fushimi Loop (clockwise). Approaching snow fall had us concerned about visibility. Radar had the system nowhere near here, so we did the loop. After the loop, L169 & L159 to Hearst. Across L155 & TOP A to Kap. A bit early in town so dropped down L143 to the L123 and east. Met the groomer just west of the river.

Back to town on L137 & L139.

Day started out @-17, now -7.20210228_154705.thumb.jpg.81a67c1cf297dda368b7aed4b8cac87e.jpg

TOP A was a 'bit' rough in the corners. L155 was fine as was L123. It didn't look as if L147 north of TOP A had been groomed recently.

Tomorrow is supposed to be cold, so maybe some blue skies for pics.

)(Fill in the blank) cold today -20* & warmed up to a balmy -18*. Rode out of Kap on L139 & L141. East to Moonbeam & a top up. Introduced @irREVerent to the Moonbeam loops on L129.

Back across the highway & did the Nursery Loop (L119) before returning to Kap via L123 & L143.

Some drifting by the fields south of Kap but not terrible. L141 north of the highway was probably the worst

157 klicks for the day

I ran 230 km’s today in southern Ontario stopping every few km’s without filling up. Had 4 bars left when I got back to trailer. Trails are hard packed now. 300 km’s range is easy on hard pack snow on these 900’s.

How fast are you going ?  Doubling ?  Why stopping every few km ?   But you do have an XS with 40 litres right ?

Probably 4" of fresh snow last night.

We would had the L129/L131 section to ourselves but caught up to & finally passed a pair of ZX chassis Rene's by the 'crossed' intersection. They let us by then.

I’ve never been on the L129 either. I’d like to try it next year.

Darn stop signs. Have to stop my friend. I am an average trail rider and I ride mostly in standard mode. Not crazy fast but not super slow either.  It is an xs with 40 L tank. I was riding single that day. Double I use more fuel but yeni only weighs 95 Ibs so not a big difference.

The L129 is a beautiful little gem.

One spot on the east side there were quite a few moose tracks.

Bonus was the road section was snow covered (it usually sucks when I've been up here for the last ride of the season).

Is 129 the Paul Geurtin Memorial Trail? I don't recall that number, but I know my favourite Moonbeam trail is the PG Memorial. An absolute hoot. Sad story though.

Its the trail that goes west over top of Remi Lake and comes back down to the A trail. Its basically a highway on the north side.

Thats the L125 PLC. L125 is called the Beardmore loop, because its on the Beardmore road. L129 and L131 is on the southside of HWY11, off the L123.

The Paul Geurtin Memorial Trail has a so named sign board at the start of the trail which I believe is south of hwy 11 and within sight or earshot of 11. By the the look of it, it almost has to be 129 or 131 or a combination of the two. Paul did most of the work to create the trail, and later was killed in a crash on the trail.

You're thinking of the L135 west if Moonbeam. Oops already answered.

We were wondering why the south end if L141 is closed.
