B Trail to Whitney

Planning a trip for next week and was wondering what exactly is happening on the B up to Whitney.  Is it being maintained at all?  The red section at the top that connects the two health units, is it passable.

It's 7.4 km. of trail and the groomer likely has to go through it to get to the rest of the trail. In southwestern Ontario most  of those red "health unit" trails have been groomed. I bet you you'll find it has been well travelled.

I took the B from Pembroke to Whitney today.  Was disappointingly soft and blown out every corner due to the dry fluff snow we had this week.  The railbed was great in to Whitney and the B106E south to Lake St Peter was excellent.

E109 to Barry's Bay was soft and blown out but the 155 in stead of the B back towards Pembroke was smooth but narrow.

Great ride really. Think it was about a 350km loop but not totally sure as I blew a fuse and lost the display. Should be a great weekend around Whitney but the soft snow will turn rough quick.

Rode from Kinmount to Whitney and well beyond today. The B trail from Haliburton Lake to Whitney has been very good this year, we have ridden it several times. The ungroomed part is from the logging road to the T intersection for HCSA MLSS and Opeongo and is very ridable. The section of trail after that into Whitney was probably the best it has ever been today. Our experience with the "RED, closed because of the plague trails" has been it depends on your pain threshold and how bad you want to get to where you are going. This one is a 1 out of 10 with 1 being the least amount of pain!  We have ridden a couple of 10's and they weren't so bad.

The red section of the trail is were two health units meet.

Renfrew county is green. Halaburton is not . The goverment and ofsc have restriction on grooming and linking health units.

Clubs dont make the rules we just have to follow them or there will be no trails to ride like north bay Perry sound health unit.

That said local new reports that Barry's bay is looking at a lockdown because people are not adhering to health regulations. ( no masks)
