I've had good luck with the BRP scratchers. I never need them until I need them. Twice this year so far. You can get them with or without the carbide tip. Need the tip.

Thanks Strong Farmer, Blake, Kevin and Mark for the unanimous recommendation. I will try my new local Oakville dealer tomorrow.

Where is best place to stay in Kap? Super 8?

We are thinking for next weekend - 19-21.

The Doo tunnel mounted carbide tipped scratchers are the best imo.   Just do not cross railway tracks with them down. We have them on both our sleds,  and will have them and duponts installed on our new '22 sleds also. We also have duponts on our current sleds also.

fingers are crossed that I can get up north this weekend also.......

Hope for your sake and mine that you make it up there Eric. Your reports this winter have been gospel for me riding in D9.

I’ve stayed at the Super 8 and it’s nice but recently stayed at the Advantage and more of a motel style and you can park right outside your room and papa Franco’s next door plus it’s a bit cheaper to stay there.

Super 8 is pretty full of OC members tonight.  More coming tomorrow...

I’m guessing it would be hard pressed to find rooms in kap now for the wknd? I’m gonna stay confident that things will be ok. Just have to get past tomo and hope for the best out of cochrane.

Thank you Gentlemen! Hope everyone has a great late season ride!!

We will make our decision in the next day or two. Haven't rode in the north for many years.

Approaching 3k for the season. Would be awesome to add in a northern trip.

might have just upgraded the ride as well.

I know there are rooms available.  I am a Cochrane lover, but trust me,  moving over to kap, will be much better.

On the radar it’s showing more snow over Hearst and Kap region. Cochrane and SRF are more in the rain/freezing rain mix. Sure hope it doesn’t hurt things too badly. Leaving tomo for cochrane

Safe drive up north.  It does not look good in Cochrane.  Hope it turns around.  We just came up in rain and kept going to Kap.

We were the only ones at the Advantage last night I’m sure you could get a room

I have been watching the weather forecasts for Timmins, Cochrane,Kap and Hearst like a hawk (Mark would say "worrying too much", but I am not the one that got wet thru today with my truck 100 km away). First the forecast for this week caused us to postpone until a week from today, and now its has us thinking of staging in Kap for reasons similar to Turbo Doo. I don't want us to drive all that way to ride icy trails. Until today, I didn't realize the potential weather difference between Cochrane and Kap, let alone Heast. According to TWN 30 minutes ago, it was +3 and raining in Cochrane and -3 and snowing in Kap. Cochrane isn't forecast to get any appreciable snow in the next week, but Hornepayne, Hearst and Kap are. Therefore, follow the white gold to Kap!!!

It’s all part of the fun if everything went perfect we would have nothing to talk about lol

I totally understand.  We drove from near Ayr Ontario.  But am sure glad we did.
