We are all big boys and girls and need to make your own bed, sleep in it, and than accept the consequences......while respecting the situation, for those that cannot, that is truly what the enforcement should be used for.

Not about being privileged, it is about principle....just depends where your principles are now a days based on what you see going on around you.

The entire premise on the "Red" trails between health units was simply a political one that the OFSC had to do given the situation.....it is not about a private land that is closed for use due to reason x, y, z....., which would put this in a completely different light.

Those looking for others to help make up your mind, really need to figure out for themselves what is important for them & their family, and what risk they are willing to take.

As far as I am concerned, the reason we are in such a mess is too much listening to the government & allowing the government to do what they have done given that they have handled this entire situation so poorly.....prime example is the Dr that has closed the PS/NB region with little to no valid reason or proof and then to see the province actually put this same region in the same category as Toronto, Peel and York region....talk about nuts :crazy_grn:

To your last comment, and to lay blame on sledding, and the influx of partying yahoo sledders coming into town, spreading covid, and then to have people that live in NB, travelling, and bringing it home. Makes yah wonder. Great post Stoney..

I was talking  to a landowner yesterday who happens to have an OFSC trail running through his property located in Dr. Cheerios closed down area. Explained to me how he encountered 4 cross country skiers on his property and how they were frantically waving their ski poles as he approached on his sled. Thinking they may have needed assistance he slowly approached and shutdown his machine . He was immediately barraged with a bunch of 4 letter profanity laced threats telling him f’ing sleds are not allowed on the trail. He responded with, perhaps you didn’t see the no trespassing signs posted on the property. I own this property, so  get off it now. Being an avid sledder is the only reason he allows the trail on his land. That being said he is getting annoyed at sledders riding off trail. Could be another lost trail in the future.

Did he escort the tree huggers off his property?

Us too..:poke2:

I am going to make a decision tomorrow or Tuesday whether to head up there this weekend as well.    The trails are great at home but I am getting bored of riding the same trails over and over.

Yes he did make sure they made it safely back off his property. They told him he would be reported to the local health unit and would be charged by the police for breaking safety protocol. He told them to enjoy the rest of their day and left it at that.

Entitled (fill in the blank). I guess in their eyes I was breaking the law cutting & hauling firewood on our woodlot.

I wonder where they were from. When I was filling a gas can @ the garage on Sat', there were 2 cars of millenials filling up. No idea what language they were speaking. It wasn't Cree, German or French...

Also does not seem to matter what lockdown/restrictions are in place, the stats looks the same.

Time to wake up for those still sleeping.

Rules, laws, lockdowns.

Been ignoring all since March.

As best I can.

Things to do, people to see, places to go.

I only follow rules that are enforceable, or that make sense to me.

Wear wool if you wish.

I refuse.

ASSuming we get past this nonsense, this will make a great class study for a history lesson one day.

"WTF were those people thinking? Didn't anyone speak up? Did anyone suffer any consequences for perpetrating this?"

Etc.

I can only imagine what this will look like in the history book.

Plus all the kids of this blip in our life will now be referred to as or labelled generation C-19, or whatever it will be called......

  • lack of social skills
  • lack of sporting
  • lack of education
  • afraid of others
  • fear of seeing people or having face/face interaction (new play date with friends will now be preferred to be a zoom call......)
  • etc....

That chart is interesting. Was there any details on where the data is from, or the scale? My thoughts are that the curves could look similar, but the number of cases could be wildly different.

Yea ALL our media outlets are really doom and gloom. I only pay attention to the data and there is already positive trends even with a low percentage of vaccinations. Dying to see my sister and neices in the states:-|

Not heard aboot Canada's numbers yet, but I did hear a report that said that the Yank's numbers were down to mid November numbers (before the big outbreak started).

Since we are still well within "flu season" I never would have expected this _ this early.

Seems like a WAY positive trend!

Not sure that I would give much credit to the "vaccines" already either....

Its cases per capita so they are normalized.

The North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit is reporting the passing of an individual who was part of the COVID-19 Community Outbreak at Skyline – Lancelot Apartments.

The individual had a preliminary positive result for a COVID-19 Variant of Concern (VOC).

This marks the second death in the region during the pandemic, the first in the Nipissing District.

29 people have been infected in the Lancelot Apartment outbreak.

“I offer my sincere condolences to the individual’s family and friends and my thoughts are with them during this difficult time,” says Dr. Jim Chirico, Medical Officer of Health. “This is the second death within our Health Unit district associated with COVID-19. This is someone’s family member and friend. It is critical we continue to work together to help stop the spread of VOCs and COVID-19 in our region, possibly preventing future deaths.”

The Health Unit says that scientists and medical professionals are concerned that VOCs are more transmissible than the original coronavirus, and research is ongoing to determine the effectiveness of currently authorized COVID-19 vaccines against them. Therefore, individuals within the district are asked to continue taking all COVID-19 precautions seriously and to continue with these measures even once they have received the COVID-19 vaccine.

“The public is the first line of defence,” stated the Health Unit.  “By continuing to stay home, regularly washing our hands or using alcohol-based hand sanitizers, wearing a face covering, physically distancing, not touching our face and coughing or sneezing into our sleeve, we can work to prevent the spread of COVID-19 VOCs within our district. Everyone has a social responsibility to follow the recommendations and to be kind to each other. These difficult times can have a negative impact on an individual’s mental health. If you need to speak to someone, visit the Health Unit’s website to find mental health services in your area.”
