I think one of the big problems with this is the word “Lockdown”.
Ive been working in Toronto the last few weeks and this isn’t a lockdown, lots of people out and around everywhere, roads are very busy as usually and I’m still getting traffic leaving the city around 3 or so, so where is this a lockdown ?
They should of used a different word than lockdown so some people could understand it better.

Don't get me wrong here and I am not a political person, don't know how politics works at all. However, I just see this "lockdown" as a Ford gov't ploy to say "hey look, we are doing something here to control Covid". There is no lockdown, my buddy works at a fabrication shop that makes custom boats and trailers, business as usual for him and for so many others. Its the illusion of "saying" we are in a lockdown. Food service seems to be the only ones being effected here in my town. Oh yeah, Canadian Tire also haha.

The term is misleading for many, no doubt.

When you compare the spring lock down to this one, there is a BIG difference.

There is a lot more traffic and activity now than there was on the last one.

More things are open than before and IMO more people have come to realization that its a waste and need to carry on with things, so that is what is happening......

I do not think Ford wanted to or had intentions do the lock down, he succumbed to the pressure of others and here we are.

Personally I think it will hurt his ratings and I hate to say this but we may be in for a Libtard control again.......:banghead:

I just can't imagine anyone voting for a party lead by Stevey Del Duca.

I had the radio on in the shop today, prepping a sled...

I hardly listen to any commercial media anymore, it's just too fraught with propaganda..

I was amazed to hear essentially this: (cut/n/pasted from Ontario.ca)

  • Ontarians should stay home to the fullest extent possible
  • Trips outside of the home should be limited and only for essential purposes (accessing health care and medication, grocery shopping, child care, exercise alone or people in your household (the people you live with) and in the community where you live, walking pets when required, and supporting vulnerable community members to meet the needs above.

Seriously? As in, are we supposed to take this seriously?

I am still a little confused on the fines people say they heard people are getting. I thought the rule is no gatherings larger then 5 people in doors and 10 people out doors. I can only assume that a vehicle would be classified as in doors so way are 2 people from different address in a truck being charged? What are they being charged with? I believe I can have people in my house as long as I do not exceed the 5 person rule. So if my neighbor and I share a ride to the beer store we can be charged?

There's only one problem with all of this the whole province is in lock down so how can you not travel from one health you to another when we're all supposed to be locked down it makes zero sense right now

Well, you can - its "recommended" and only recommended not too for anything that is not "essential".

PHU's are making their own rules - their not laws.

This whole thing is beyond stupid at this point.

There are a total of 0 km's of trails in my public health unit - not 0 available - 0 period - I have NO CHOICE but to leave my PHU to go riding and if that is what I have to do, then so be it, I consider it "essential" for my friging mental health.

Still not considered a lockdown.

This is FAR from a lockdown!!  It’s a bunch of political BS!! If they really are trying to stop the spread...... we wouldn’t be having this conversation!!!

Pretty sure the XTR in haliburton will be the same.

Yeah, it kind'a sounded like both of you were fussin' aboot this thing not being taken seriously.

Don't git me wrong - I find the whole thing rather pointless past the "don't swamp the meds", and I hope to go riding soon, but still waiting for more snow.

Back in the spring during the first lockdown I had a woman that would yell at me that I needed to go home and that I wasn't supposed to be out walking our dog.
