meat pies test

For those that want to take on less risk for your food needs on trips this winter, got the M&M Foods meat pies on sale and found them tolerable. They come in handy in that they can be cooked in a microwave. Usually you think of these types of pie as having a golden brown crust and creamy filling - due to some foil implants in the pie box itself, the microwave method manages to do this. (can also be cooked in an oven)

You'll need at least two of them for a decent meal. Most small microwaves in motel rooms are 700 watts - the instructions are for 1000 - 1200 watt machines so extend the cooking time for a minute or so.

As mentioned in a previous post, the M&M cabbage rolls are also a good choice and microwavable. Lots of food in this pack:

On a related topic, someone here was good enough to mention friends who took a humidifier with them for dry motel rooms....usually we just run the shower for a few minutes with the bathroom door open...but have found this portable heater on many occasions when heating is poor in a room...sometimes on sale for $17....

No compensation was received for any of these reviews.
