Who's going to Sledarama?

Was also nice to meet up with a bunch of fellow OC members, it sure seemed busier than the past couple of years I have attended the show.

Picked up a nice Polaris banner from the 90's and sold a old Ski Doo ashtray to a collector I met last year to a guy from Quebec.

No plans to attend. I get my fix attending the Peterborough show.

I think they can happen.  Limited entry, masks, etc...  we all know the drill.  Although by the fall majority should be vaccinated so maybe full capacity who knows.

I agree

Listen to Tam, listen to the no mind drama teacher, and a listen to fat boy and his team of slide show specialists and you have your answers.

If you want to go to a sled show  - you better book your flight and get over the border.

We are in the midst of booking summer hockey camps for my son in the US because there is and will be NOTHING in Ontario for another year at least.

We are a joke.

End of rant.

Craziness -

Camp Tawingo shuttered for another summer season.

I truly hate living here.

Best of luck to your daughter.

Cheers

The true North strong and free.......what happened :wtf: (not need to answer that).

When you think about how Canada has been a country that has been so accepting of many people & cultures, some have embraced while others not so much......that I feel is a huge part now as to why we are continuing down this downward spiral surrounding this whole situation in a very sharp way.

And to say I kept on track with the thread subject - no way the Toronto show happens.

Sept will see a spike in numbers again that will bring more lock downs in Oct through the winter months.

Peterborough might have a chance.

It will never stop now.

CBC posted an article where the Dr. admitted that Covid will permanently replace the flu and cold - that the cold and flu has officially been "renamed"

It's pathetic.

Golf proved that last year when 22 million rounds were played without one case of COVID transmission here in Ontario. Now Ford continues to shut it down and why!  Maybe getting hit in head with ball, poses a greater risk then covid itself, and he is worried about injured golfers going to seek

medical attention. 😂

Golf courses make most of their money at the 19th hole - alcohol. At some of the ritzier clubs you will not find many servers with the courage (or fear of losing their jobs) that will tell some well heeled club member what he or she can't do.  All it takes is one person infected and spreading.

Played plenty of rounds last summer / fall.
All drinks or food after round was outside, very limited access to indoors.

And it’s the cart lady or ladies on the course or halfway house where the money is made on bevies.

Do you or did you play golf last year?

No - I got a hole in one on hole number six on the Garson golf course near Sudbury many years ago. Gave up the sport as I was never going to do better than that - no challenge left.

That’s great to get one!

I’m guessing you aren’t or weren’t a golfer than as most wouldn’t stop after a HIO.

However commenting on an activity and its protocols in place given you didn’t partake, really isn’t necessary given the comment you replied to.... sounds like something one of those “characters “ would do :)

And FTR, courses last year had no issues enforcing their rules, even a private course.....I’d even go as far to say the more ritzier club were more stern than the lesser one.

That was a pretty good day....dad bought me a celebratory Fanta Lime, there being no Fanta Orange in the machine at the club house...was fifteen cents at the time...although thirteen cents at convenience stores....still remember sliding that bottle along to where it was released once your money was in....

In relation to your comment, I worked part time at a golf course in Mississauga in order to save up money for our wedding - particularly expensive as it involved getting a septic system installed - so I feel qualified to speak on the subject.

There is a news comment in the National Post on the same topic - Doug Ford's buddies.  But I have to agree with your basic premise- with the proper protocols in place, golf should be a safe activity. But people will be people.

Have them hold the sled show on a 36 hole golf course. You buy a ticket and get a "tee time" over the 3 (or more?) days at which time you can start wandering the "course" - keeps spacing safe. Merchants /clubs are set up on tees, greens, and in-betweens. Your admission includes an umbrella.

Too bad I only thought of this now.

"Visit Rosseau Road Enterprises for some great deals! We are located at hole number 17."

Had memberships last year for me and kids.

Played 3-4 rounds a week and not a single "covid" case ever at the course.

It's all bullshit - all of it.
