Friends of mine are in Gaspe, that recent snow and wind storm has caused havoc for sleders and groomers.

Not sure why but someone had to leave his sled overnight by the trail and this is what he found the next morning.

Just said that he couldn’t ride any further, maybe the blowing snow was to much to see.

Supposedly he was very close to a road and must of called for a ride back home or something like that, I think he was a local and wasn’t far from his house.

Here is a few pictures to demonstrate the crazy snow there in Gaspe. The line of sleds was probably over 40 that had to turn around and get beck to blaze 90 km's of road to Gaspe.

A recently retired co worker of mine just finished a "bucket list" ride from his cottage in South River all the way to Gaspe and back with his son and Wife.

He had been sharing similar photos of the amazing amount of snow out there in instagram.

6000 kms and 29 days later he's home........

too bad some of this snow couldn't have been shared with SW Ontario.....

Nice pictures

We were in the front of that line with my son on his RMK breaking the trail.   Picture of him below.   Sorry we could make it all the way.  It was getting dark.  Not sure if you were part of the first group that ran the road to Gaspe vor the group of 11 with us in the 2nd group.

I assume that your group heading into Gaspe also got pulled over by the  Quebec Ministry of transportation truck with the flashing yellow light?    We got stopped and thought we were in for a lecture for driving down the highway.  Asked what hotel we were staying at and escorted us right through town to the hotel.  He told us he was the second group that he helped out that night.   The road running was actually very good.  No slider or carbine wear and the machines ran very cool.

Just glad everyone seemed to fine a spot for the night.

A group of us rode hwy 11 from New Liskeard to Kirkland Lake many years ago. We were running late on the ride from Temagami due to too much snow, OPP shut down the highway, so we asked them if it was ok for us to run up the road and they said have have it and off we went.....never done that before and have not since!

Yes he guided us in as well, very helpful! I was surprised to see everything shut down even Mc Donald’s. We made out ok with carbides also, think there was a layer of ice and enough snow. We were stuck in Gaspé the next day after traveling out 50 Klm’s the groomer told us to go back. So Wednesday with trails still not opening we got a large flatbed and trailer as well as 2 cabs and went to Chandler. Dropped there and rode sleds to New Richmond. Very eventful to say the least!
